The Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC) Threat Modeling Center (TMC) at Northrop Grumman Space Systems is looking for you to join our team as the Process Engineer, a Principal Engineer Systems position out of Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO. What You'll Get to Do: The Threat Modeling Center is responsible for the development and delivery of high fidelity threat modeling products in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and MDA’s Ballistic Missile Defense System. This position is for the TMC Process Engineer that oversees and assesses existing processes and workflows. This position will also optimize productivity by designing, implementing and testing new procedures in step with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Scrum development process.Roles and Responsibilities include:
  • Implement, modernize, and manage TMC Process definition practices, with a high preference on process modeling vs. a document-driven approach
  • Define and manage TMC Processes, Procedures, and Operating Instructions
  • Defines the Agile Lifecycle Processes and cadence
  • Manage the program's RACI matrix to ensure unambiguous communication of roles and responsibilities
  • Maintain compliance and traceability to NG Principles and Operating Procedures, SWDC Processes, and other Contract requirements
  • Ensure adherence to TMC Processes and Procedures by conducting/coordinating work product inspections and coordinating process spot checks
  • Conduct/Facilitate training to TMC staff on Processes and Procedures
  • Conduct regular Lean process inspections to remove unnecessary steps, increase automation, and streamline TMC processes
  • Conduct regular audits on processes to ensure compliance with documented standards
  • Maintain program risk management within the TMC (all of the ROAM stuff that comes out of PI Planning plus other risk tracking)
  • Manage/facilitate program metrics within the TMC, this would help leverage the process improvements targets
  • Ensures generation and execution of process improvement action plans
You’ll Bring These Qualifications: 
  • 5 Years with relevant Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with Ph.D.  
  • Final DoD Secret clearance
  • Systems Engineering Lifecycle background including requirements derivation
  • Working knowledge of Agile and SAFe development methodologies
  • Working knowledge of Software Development and Support Functions such as Configuration Management, Data Management, and Quality Assurance
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: 
  • Ability to work independently and in groups equally well; must be a self-starter
  • Excellent time management
  • Certifications (INCOSE, OCEB, Agile Scrum, SAFe)
  • Experience in applying model-based methodologies to process management
  • Understanding of Modeling and Simulation (M&S), specifically for ballistic missile systems
  • Knowledge of software design and performance in IT infrastructures, networks and cloud solutions
  • Experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence)
  • Current DoD Top Secret clearance with SSBI (SCI eligibility)

Salary Range: 92000 - 138000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
