Peraton is currently seeking an Operations Research Analyst to work in the Joint Distribution Process Analysis Center (JDPAC) at USTRANSCOM with a mission to provide analysis support to improve the nation's ability to move and sustain our forces throughout the globe.  This position will serve in the Global Operations Center (GOC) Analytic Cell providing support to senior leaders in the TCJ3 and Global Operations Center with near real-time demand-vs-capacity visualizations of the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE) system and independent ad-hoc analysis for data-driven decisions that shape strategic asset allocation, command-wide risk management, and policy development for USTRANSCOM activity annually. This position is located at Scott AFB, IL.  Role:  Execution and maintenance of these critical products and programs requires mastery of state-of-the-art data science tools and techniques, analytical software, and a general familiarity with data systems and processes of USTRANSCOM. Integration of data, especially multiple disparate data-sets, along with the production of automated visualizations. Position provides mission support to formulate and produce comprehensive end-to-end analysis of mobility capabilities and requirements using US Transportation Command approved suite of Modeling, Simulation and Optimization (MS&O) tools. As an ORSA, candidate analyzes actual and predictable interacting operational activities of business to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision making through the application of logic and scientific or economic disciplines and techniques. Devises modeling and measuring techniques; utilizes mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques (linear programming, game theory, probability theory, symbolic language, etc.), and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines. Candidate shall provide analytic, data visualization, and modeling and simulation expertise to select and cleanse data, analyze and produce visualizations to interpret date, and conduct modeling and simulation of the transportation enterprise to provide decision support analysis for senior leaders in policy and course of action development and decision processes. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide analytical, data visualization and modeling and simulation support for the Global Operations Center (GOC) of US Transportation Command using an array of analytic techniques.
  • Review, understand and represent DoD mobility concept of operations within the modeling and simulation tool framework.
  • Produce papers, reports and briefings describing the study formulation, mobility demand signals and analytic or modeling and simulation insights.
  • Gather data from variety of sources and conduct efficient data analysis of modeling and simulation results.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks with competing timelines and deliverables.
  • Lead study efforts and projects.
  • Have strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
   

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business or similar fields with a minimum of 3 years’ experience, or a Masters degree and minimum of 2 years’ experience
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
  • Must enjoy working in a team environment with frequent customer contact and have excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative reasoning, mathematical and problem-solving skills
  • Data visualization knowledge, skills and abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Experience with strategic application and study of the DoD mobility enterprise system
  • Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools, specifically IBM Cognos
  • Experience with the Analysis of Mobility Platform (AMP), Joint Flow Analysis System for Transportation (JFAST), and/or Joint Operational Planning Execution System (JOPES)
