Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Graphic Artist. This position will support international Global Hawk programs and be located in Sierra Vista, Arizona or Rancho Bernardo, CA. However, teleworking will be considered.

What You Will Get to Do: Develops, designs, plans, lays out, and produces a variety of technical illustrations for publications such as Operator Manuals, Technical Orders, Technical Manuals, handbooks, and Software User Manuals. Selects techniques best suited to produce desired visual effects in conformance with established quality standards and specified reproduction medium. Makes orthographic, isometric, and perspective drawings; uses engineering drawings, photographs, models, video, or rough sketches. Coordinates with technical writers/engineering to determine illustration objectives and translates into graphic terms. Illustrates tools, products, machines, buildings, and figures using two- and three-dimensional materials, and applying color, shading, and other art techniques to portray intended meaning and adhering to an S1000D specification, Mil-Std-38784, and instructions from United Sates Air Force (USAF) and international customers.

Basic Qualifications

• At least 10 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's Degree. In lieu of formal degree, High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least 13 years of relevant experience in a related technical field
• At least 7 years of experience with IsoDraw
• Experience with DoD Flight Manual or Maintenance Manual illustrations
• Currently hold an active DoD Secret clearance
• Must be able to research engineering data, drawings, CAD models, technical manuals, and other subject matter/source data to develop and sustain technical publication graphics

Preferred Qualifications

• Creo Illustrate, CreoView, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere and SAP Visual Enterprise Author (Right Hemisphere)
• Experience S1000D International Specification for Technical Publications/IETM/Data Module illustrations
• Specific requirements include technical drawing software proficiency, proficiency in Adobe CS and basic concept of graphic design and layout
• Experience in preparation of isometric exploded views of illustrations
• Experience in communicating detailed and technical data through visual means
• Understanding of photo manipulation and 3D visualization

Salary Range: $81,600 USD - $141,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
