Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a highly qualified, mission oriented Technical Publication Manager to help manage a diverse portfolio of prime international contracts for our Q4 Enterprise Sustainment Organization. The successful candidate will assist in directing, overseeing, and collaborating on all aspects of the programs from a technical writing, editing and publication perspective associated with planning, implementation, contracting of change proposals, and execution of the program across Integrated Product Teams, functions and sectors. The successful candidate will interact with the customer, subcontractors, and other stakeholders as the focal point for Q4 International Sustainment activities as well as, manage schedules to ensure timely execution of efforts to support the Autonomous Systems Operating Unit.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Plan, organize and manage technical publications activities
  • Extensive familiarity with DoD specifications MIL-STD-40051-*, MIL-HDBK-1222*, MIL-STD-2361, and MIL-STD-38784
  • Collaborate with OEM engineering
  • Direct the work of employees assigned to the program in the technical writing and Editing areas.
  • Development and adherence to Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
  • Development and delivery of presentations to customers, management, and other program stakeholders.
  • Development of customer relationships and cultivation of customer intimacy.
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result.
  • Ability to demonstrate success in leading and developing cross functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of management and individual contributors.
  • Strong communication, team building and facilitation skills; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with team, upper management and customers
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of program/project management experience with Bachelor's Degree; 10 years of experience in lieu of formal degree
  • Global Hawk, NATO or Triton Experience
  • Currently hold an active DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Global Hawk, NATO or Triton Experience
  • Experience in Foreign Military sales

This position reports to Sierra Vista, AZ, USA, however, this position can also be worked from San Diego, CA, USA.


Salary Range: $93,100 USD - $161,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
