Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation - Mission Systems (NGSC-MS) is looking for you to join our team as a Field Engineering Services Manager 2 based out of Naval Base Kitsap in Bangor, WA.

The Field Engineering Services Manager 2 will manage an on-site repair team providing varied support to the launcher program at Naval Base Kitsap in Bangor, WA.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide daily direction and management of 10+ employees comprised of Repair Technicians and Manufacturing Expeditor(s) operating in 3 buildings (HEMF, LEPB, and RIB) to meet customer requirements.
  • Work closely with the Production Supervisor and Production Support Engineers to ensure mission objectives as defined by the Field Site Manager, SPB11 Industrial Support Requirements and NGSC-MS/SV Program Office are met through management of the Repair Technicians and Manufacturing Expeditor(s).
  • Ensure that quality, safety, and the technical program management as defined by the Quality and Safety Manuals are implemented and maintained by the workforce.
  • Work with Navy and Civilian personnel to establish and maintain outstanding customer relations
  • Support Field Operations budget reviews, quality operations, audits, training, and other tasks as directed by the Field Operations Manager or as directed by the NGSC-MS/SV Program Office.
  • Ensure corporate directives are presented and followed by all repair Technicians and Manufacturing Expeditor(s) personnel.
  • Work with the Training Engineer, Production Supervisor, Qual/Cert Board, and Production Support Engineers to ensure the Repair Technicians and Manufacturing Expeditor(s) qualifications and certifications are achieved and maintained.
  • Provide direction, leadership and guidance for Work Force Engagement and strive to ensure team projects are implemented.
  • Responsible for performance reviews for all Repair Technicians and Manufacturing Expeditor(s).
  • Work as the Production Controller to ensure Preventative Maintenance/Weight Test/Calibration for all launcher/shop equipment at SWFPAC, IMF, SSBNs and PSNS is accomplished.
  • Crane Maintenance Coordinator for NGSC-MS at SWFPAC - Primary POC for building crane issues and attending weekly meetings.
  • Material Handling Equipment and Government Vehicles Coordinator for NGSC-MS at SWFPAC - Primary POC for all vehicle related issues.

The successful candidate must be a self-starter and have the ability to work in a dynamic environment. This individual must have proven leadership and excellent communication skills as well as a leader in procedural discipline.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree - 8 Years' Experience or Master's Degree - 6 Years' Experience
  • 12 years experience considered in lieu of Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to obtain DoD Top Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trident II D5 experience
  • Procedural discipline experience in SWF environment
  • Previous manager/supervisor experience
  • Active Top Secret Clearance


Salary Range: $113,200 USD - $169,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
