Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking self-motivated, energetic individual to work at government customer site in Stafford, Virginia as a Network Engineer. The successful candidate will work on Operations and Maintenance (O&M) program designing, analyzing and maintaining Cisco based internal and external networks for operating a wide array of antenna systems. Position is contingent upon contract award. The person hired for this role will be base at our Stafford, VA locations.

What You Will Do:

- Design, plan and implement network VPN communications via Cisco based security appliances. Providing specifications and detailed schematics of network architecture via M.S. Visio and Solrwinds NCM.

- Provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements

- Perform network monitoring, testing, maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations

- Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as Cisco routers, multiplexers, firewalls, switches, bridges, gateways, etc.

- DISA ACAS/Nessus scanning and hardening of Windows workstation/server and Cisco appliances.

- Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.

Basic Qualifications:

- 6 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD; or 10 years of exp in lieu of degree.

- Security+ certification required

- Must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret security clearance with SCI and successfully completion of a polygraph

- Must be able to work within a group or independently

- Will work closely with other contractors and government customers

- Ability to travel (25 % of time)

- DOD 8570 compliance

- Information Assurance Technical Workforce (IAT) level 1 or higher

- Candidate requires strong system Windows Server Administrator skills to support the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems.

- Solid understanding of IP, TCP/UDP, IPSEC, VTP, GRE, SNMP, SSL/TLS, DNS and LDAP protocols.

- 1st shift with rotating weekend supports (~every 14 weeks)

- Favorable SECNAV 5512

Preferred Qualifications:

- Active TS/SCI with CI Poly

- Experience with: Cisco firewall, Firepower, switches and routing, ACAS, Ness us, STIG compliance, IAVM, patching, RMF, IPS and IDS tuning, log severs and auditing, network monitoring, compliance monitoring, incident response.

Salary Range: 91960 - 137940

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
