Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Principal/SR Principal Manufacturing Engineer - PLM Teamcenter Project Lead based out of Sunnyvale, CA.

Our group is responsible for implementing and managing innovative applications including Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). Northrup Grumman Sunnyvale Production Support Group is looking for an Engineer who has proven experience working on Siemens Teamcenter suite of applications, focusing on ‘Teamcenter Coordinated Material Management’ to help design, develop and support high-quality enterprise software solutions to manage regulatory compliance of NG Products. In this role, you will be partnering with multi-functional teams across NG. We are looking for a highly motivated, meticulous, hands-on technical individual with excellent communication skills.

Join the NG Sunnyvale Production support team as a PLM Teamcenter Project Lead where you will help build innovative enterprise software applications.

What You’ll get to Do:

Your responsibilities include working with the business team members to define the sprint scope; developing architecture and detail design; implementing and application maintenance. You must be able to work with cross-functional teams within the business groups. You must be able to operate with minimal directions with on-time results. This is a lead engineer role with exciting opportunities for learning that will also leverage your coding, debugging, leadership, and interpersonal skills as you work with other team members.

Specific areas of responsibility include:

  • Drive the design, development, pipelines, and deployment of key PLM and CAD applications.
  • Communicating with product management and other teams about interfaces and dependencies.
  • All aspects of custom and COTS application management at an enterprise level, including client/server installations, configurations, packaging, deployment, maintenance and support.
  • Ability to assess new technologies and determine solution for enterprise implementation.

This position can be filled at a Principal Manufacturing Engineering level or a SR Principal Manufacturing Engineering level.



Basic Qualifications

*This position may be filled at higher level based on the following qualifications*

  • Bachelor's in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology Engineering or Math) with 5+ years of relevant work experience; Master's Degree with 3+ years of relevant work experience; PhD with 0+ years of relevant experience.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM discipline with 9+ years of relevant work experience; Master’s with 7+ years of relevant work experience; PhD with 4+ years of relevant work experience.


  • Experience in designing and developing scalable enterprise-level Teamcenter or 13.2 solutions.
  • Experience with translating sophisticated functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design.
  • Able to work/coordinate with multiple teams.  Experience leading and mentoring engineers.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to optimally multi-task and support multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance (US Citizenship).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in designing and developing scalable enterprise-level Teamcenter or 13.2 solutions.
  • Full lifecycle PLM enterprise application implementation experience (e.g., analyze, design, build, test, implement, support)
  • Architect, design, develop, configure, customize and maintain, all aspects of a business-critical Teamcenter application including, Teamcenter integrations for various ECAD, MCAD, and MBSE tools
  • Ability to plan application roadmap based on Team center product roadmap; identify business requirements and map them to Teamcenter capabilities
  • Lead architectural design discussions to address business requirements.
  • Exposure to machining, welding and assembly processes.

Salary Range: $92,200 USD - $138,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $114,300 USD - $171,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
