The Electrical Engineer would be responsible for the design and test of printed wiring boards (PWBs) and circuit card assemblies (CCAs).  The candidate would be responsible for following design review requirements to document the design including modeling and simulation and schematics.  The preferred candidate would have experience with test tools for manufacturing check out after build completion and support of any production issues. A desire to learn about power systems is preferred as that is the core business of P/CS and would be the most common systems being designed and tested.

The Electrical Engineer should be capable of supporting cabinet and module level point to point wiring designs. This candidate would work with the Power Electronics Engineers for guidance of power wiring and layout. The engineer would be responsible for creating schematics and wiretabs to document the wiring design. This candidate would also work directly with operations for proof of concept and engineering model development.

Basic Qualifications for Level 1:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with a minimum of 0 years relevant industry experience
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a DOD security clearance
  • Experience with printed wiring board design or testing
  • Standard MS Office software, e.g. MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware issues

Basic Qualifications: for Level 2 

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with a minimum of 2 years relevant industry experience or M.S. in Engineering with a minimum of 0 years relevant industry experience
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a DOD security clearance
  • Experience with printed wiring board design or testing
  • Standard MS Office software, e.g. MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware issues

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Experience doing prototype testing in a lab environment
  • Working knowledge of related Mil-Stds for cabinet wiring design
  • SABER and LTSpice simulation tools for modeling and simulation of circuits
  • DxDesigner and Expedition for schematic capture and printed wiring board development
  • Experience with modeling and simulation of power conversion circuits
  • Experience with cabinet wiring design
  • Experience supporting operations with work instructions
  • Active DOD Secret clearance


Salary Range: $65,000 USD - $97,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $78,600 USD - $118,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
