In 2017, Northrop Grumman Australia was awarded a contract to perform the acquisition, construction and support of the second satellite ground station in the east of Australia. The contract will also deliver an integrated wideband SATCOM network management system to improve robustness, capacity and efficiency of the ADF SATCOM capability.

We are seeking multiple Test Analysts who will be responsible for design and execution of test cases as directed by the Test Manager.

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Analysing a system, or its requirement specification, and selecting appropriate test techniques

  • Analysing specification items, and designing and documenting suitable test cases

  • Reviewing test cases and providing feedback

  • Running test cases in various development and production environments

  • Documenting and reporting test results

  • Determining exploratory tests from a given scenario

  • Writing and communicating clear and understandable defect reports

  • Validating test environments

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experienced Test Engineer backed up by formal certifications (e.g., ISTQB Foundation Level Certified Tester)

  • Experience developing test descriptions from requirements documentation,  design descriptions and product usage

  • Experience in documenting test results for corrective actions, reporting and audits

  • Experience in using integration and test environments to test systems, sub-systems and products.

  • Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.

  • Must be an Australian citizen holding a Negative Vetting 1 Australian Government security clearance.

Desired experience

  • Engineering and/or IT qualifications

  • Experience developing test execution scenarios for various types of tests, such as load, stress, duration/endurance, and run tests.

  • Experience with test automation development

  • Knowledge / experience with one or more of: data interface testing, data migration testing, user interface testing, security testing, and system integration testing

  • Experience working in teams over disparate locations

  • Knowledge/experience in Satellite Communications

Note: As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian Citizens. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable, as such your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
