Social Scientist/Assessments SME – USCENTCOM – Tampa, FL – MacDill AFB – DOD TS/SCI

Peraton Counter Threat Messaging Support Program (CTMSP) is seeking a Senior Social Scientist with experience working with a diverse team of linguists, analysts, and planners, to serve as the lead of a diverse research team and to achieve operational objectives for USCENCTOM and MISTF-A/C. Peraton has a need for a social scientist with experience translating empirical research findings into USG policy relevant recommendations at the operational and strategic levels. Experience with information operations; (IO) supporting clients in the DOD and/or USG information research and analysis (e.g. public affairs, intelligence, law enforcement, diplomacy, broadcasting, and foreign affairs) are strongly preferred. The ability to work on a team in a collaborative environment is a requirement. The successful candidate will be responsible for overall strategy, research tasking, data validation and program compliance management of IO activities for the contractor’s operations in Afghanistan and other Areas of Operations for USCENTCOM. This position is located in Tampa, FL, MacDill AFB at USCENTCOM. Roles and responsibilities for this position include: 1. In conjunction with the J2/Intel analysis personnel, OPTs, MISTs, other MISTF-supported elements in the CJOA, and according to current best practices in the domain. 2. Develop, refine, or coordinate assessment and collection plans for planned and active MIST series in the CJOA being reported to IOCARS. 3. Develop, refine, or coordinate Series Assessment Reports (SARs) for all active series in the CJOA being reported to IOCARS on a quarterly basis. 4. Continuously maintain a summary report of all SARs in the CJOA and disseminate as necessary. 5. Create, determine funding, and/or coordinate with stakeholders the collection of identified indicators through all available sources to assess approved MIST series in the CJOA. 6. Conduct statistical analysis of aggregated data received from contractors, other agencies, or collected by in-house means and produce summary reports of those data as necessary. 7. Work with Knowledge Manager to maintain and update the MISO Assessments Intellipedia repository on SIPR and JWICS with all existing MISO assessments, survey data, survey reports, and analytical intelligence reports as they pertain to conducting psychological and influence operations in the CJOA. 8. Update a designated Unified Assessment Management system database with current assessment information from supported MISO organizations or other reports 9. Prepares status reports, assesses project issues and risks and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

Basic Qualifications: 1. Master's degree and 14 years of relevant experience or PhD with 9 years of relevant experience 2. Must possess a Master’s degree in Political Science / International Relations, Area Studies, Behavioral Sciences, Sociology, Geography, Anthropology, or other related social science field 3. Must have knowledge and experience in use of all Microsoft Office products 4. Must be willing and able to travel to Qatar and Afghanistan if required by the program to both CONUS and OCONUS locations.  Note: These areas in Afghanistan are austere and hazardous 5. Must possess a current U.S. Passport. 6. Must possess a Current TS/SCI security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. PhD in Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Behavioral Sciences, social sciences  or BS + 14 years of experience, PhD + 9 years of experience. 2. Concentration in statistical methods for social sciences. 3. Joint intelligence or operational experience with US DoD Geographical Combatant Commands 4. Must possess statistical package expertise in IBM SPSS/PASW, R, STATA or even excel. 5.
