Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for a Principal / Sr. Principal Low Observable Survivability Specialist to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at Volkel Air Base, Netherlands.
Your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Be a self-starter, work without direct supervision.
Integrate into a high tempo military operational environment.
Provide aircraft maintenance guidance to military and civilian maintainers and depot technicians and engineers with confidence and authority.
Document maintenance activities, collate data to identify emerging failure trends and provide recommendations to reduce aircraft down time, improve maintenance practices and advise on LO and structures system maintenance tasks.
Have knowledge and background in the field of Radio Frequency (RF) diagnostic and verification techniques for maintaining LO aircraft.
Identify technical issues and recommend solutions to support repair disposition process and technical data updates.
Manage and track multiple technical and logistic support activities and provide periodic status to customers and program management team.
Combine engineering knowledge with real world maintenance experience
Conduct on-aircraft task training of maintainers and provide product briefings to customers, vendors, and company representatives.
Assist customer with resolving complex aircraft maintenance discrepancies / anomalies. Apply comprehensive technical expertise to sole moderate to complex problems.
Utilize aircraft ground support equipment to perform aircraft maintenance tasks.
Learn other specialties for total team performance in aircraft build, removal and installation of aircraft components, operational and functional checks, and modification or other maintenance roles.
Conduct maintenance operations in accordance with policies and procedures set forth by governing regulatory documents to include tool control, quality, safety, aircraft maintenance documentation, etc.
Support program technical interchange meetings and program plans development relating to problem analysis, engineering dispositions and in-house technical support.
Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and engage with aircraft maintainers on a regular basis to resolve maintenance issues that would otherwise lead to aircraft downtime.
Work any shift, weekends, overtime and holidays, if necessary, as well as travel on Temporary Duty Assignments (TDY's) to support program requirements.

Basic Qualifications:
Principal (Level 3): Must have a HS Diploma or a GED and 9 years of experience on F-35 aircraft. Will consider a bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years Low Observables (LO) maintenance experience on F-35 military aircraft; A master's degree with 3 years of F-35 Low Observables (LO) maintenance experience.
Intermediate proficiency of Microsoft Office tools
Have an active DOD Secret security clearance and ability to obtain a Special Access Program clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Field support or prior military experience.
Working knowledge of engineering tools.
Basic Qualifications:
Sr. Principal (Level 4): Must have a HS Diploma or a GED and 13 years of maintenance experience on F-35 aircraft. Will consider a bachelor’s degree and minimum of 9 years Low Observables (LO) maintenance experience on F-35 aircraft; A master's degree with 7 years of Low Observables (LO) maintenance experience on F-35 aircraft, OR A PHD with a minimum of 4 years of Low Observables (LO) maintenance experience on F-35 aircraft.
Intermediate proficiency of Microsoft Office tools.
Have an active DOD Secret security clearance and ability to obtain a Special Access Program clearance.
Working knowledge of engineering tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Field support or prior military experience.
Advanced composite and airframe repair experience.
