Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Crew Chief – Product Trainer or Principal Product Trainer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Melbourne, FL for the Product Support Group. Operating on our 9/80 schedule meaning you will get every other Friday off. The position has no opportunity for remote or telework.
*This position may be filled by either a Product Trainer or a Principal Product Trainer level based on the qualifications listed. **
The successful candidate needs to be experienced as an aircraft maintenance crew chief and with the Instructional Systems Development (ISD) framework for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating (ADDIE) learning systems. Using their Crew Chief expertise, select appropriate instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, self-study, lectures, demonstration-performance, problem-based learning, student-centered learning, and guided discussion. Support, build, and promote a positive and collaborative culture across all teams. Develop and maintain expert level knowledge. Strong written and verbal communication skills required, as well as strong organizational skills and an ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment.
Job Duties:
Develops training curriculum, study outlines, and orientation materials to be employed during procedures-based maintenance training.
Support the development of criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.
Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and maintain updated technical information.
Provide input to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.
Demonstrate and use effective training analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills.
Develop instruction materials – self-paced guides, case studies, job aids, evaluations; scenario-based course outlines.
Develop training materials – classroom materials, instructor guides, student manuals, workbooks, related materials; curricula to support program implementation across target audiences.
Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify specific training needs and develop solutions for satisfying unique skills-based training requirements.
Create and analyze assessments to evaluate learning effectiveness and instructional improvement opportunities – e.g., pre-tests, post-tests, and quizzes.
Deliver classroom instruction based on developed courseware and satisfy course closeout requirements.
Basic Qualifications Product Trainer:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university with 2 years’ relevant experience; OR a Masters’ Degree with 0 years relevant experience; OR 6 years’ experience in lieu of degree.
2 or more years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Crew Chief. (Special considerations will be given for more diverse experience).
2 or more years of aircraft maintenance classroom instruction and course development at a Field Training Detachment (special considerations will be given for diverse development experience).
Must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Must have working knowledge of customer compliance documents, government instructions, and government standards.
Must have familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance.
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.

5 or more years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Crew Chief. (Special considerations will be given for more diverse experience).
3 or more years of aircraft maintenance classroom instruction and course development at a Field Training Detachment (special considerations will be given for diverse development experience).

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university with 6+ years of experience in courseware development, instruction or industry training content development OR a Master’s Degree with 1 year of experience in the same OR 7 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
An Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years.
Special Program Access
A background with Perform pre-flight, post-flight, and in-flight inspections of aircraft systems.
Experience with monitoring aircraft performance during flight operations to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
Perform maintenance on engines, landing gear, brakes, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, and other aircraft components.
Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs on aircraft components as needed and ensure all necessary tools and equipment are available for use when performing maintenance tasks.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and document any discrepancies or defects found.
Experience in task analysis procedures and training systems products
Respond to emergency situations quickly and efficiently.
Follow established procedures and protocols for aircraft maintenance.
Basic understanding of Agile processes.
Design and development of curriculum for advanced technologies.
Experience using courseware development tools – LCMS and LMS
