Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector (NGMS) is seeking a Data Insight Analyst (Level 2 or 3). This position reports to the People Analytics Manager supporting NGMS through the Corporate People Analytics organization.  People Analytics is a team of data scientists, behavioral research scientists, insight analysts, competitive intelligence analysts, and U/X experts who use science to inform our most important people decisions and to enable an industry leading employee experience. This position can be hybrid from one of the following offices Baltimore, Rolling Meadows, Sunnyvale, Woodland Hills, San Diego, or a possibility for full-time telework from any US city.

As an analyst, you will be curious, detail-oriented, and ethically conscious. You seek to ask questions about people, the business, and how we can use data to find solutions. You are a strategic thinker that can translate data to create well-informed people decisions to enable strategic business outcomes. You want to drive change for our people, are candid and collaborative in taking on our most difficult analytics projects as well as the process and culture changes that accompanies them. You will collaborate across the Mission Systems sector and business to uncover data-driven insights to solve business challenges across the talent lifecycle and enable transformational change.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

· Collaborate with stakeholders, teammates, and business leaders in the Mission Systems sector to identify challenges and empower organizations with data

· Communicate results to an executive audience to effectively tell the data story

· Develop and automate data and analytical solutions for ongoing organizational needs

· Define, collect, and manipulate data sets to create structured hypotheses, identify patterns, and derive insights to drive decision making

· Create data visualizations using common visualization capabilities (R or Python libraries, Tableau, Qlik, Cognos, PowerBI etc)

Basic Qualifications - level 2:

· Bachelor's degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant experience or master's degree in a related field with 1 year of relevant experience

· Ability to extract and manipulate data from databases (e.g., SQL)

· Ability to use statistical programming languages (e.g., R, Python)

· Proficient in data visualization using Tableau or similar visualization tool

· Experience collaborating on projects with multiple teams, managing relationships, and communicating findings to audiences

Basic Qualifications - level 3:

· Bachelor's degree in a related field with 6 years of relevant experience or master's degree in a related field with 4 years of years of relevant experience

· Ability to extract and manipulate data from databases (e.g., SQL)

· Ability to use statistical programming languages (e.g., R, Python)

· Proficient in data visualization using Tableau or similar visualization tool

· Experience collaborating on projects with multiple teams, managing relationships, and communicating findings to audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience with people or talent related data analytics

· Experience with Alteryx

· Experience with data storage and retrieval techniques, ETL, and databases

· Experience with U/X design principles

· Ability to work with the upmost confidentiality when applicable

· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on a team

· Solid statistical understanding and exposure to more advanced analytics, such as machine learning

· Experience with Workday system


Salary Range: $68,100 USD - $112,300 USD
Salary Range 2: $83,800 USD - $138,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
