Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a SCA Engineering Technician 4 for our Beale AFB, CA location.  Primary responsibility is that of a database analyst and field support representative (FSR) providing technical assistance, application, and insight to Government personnel. The candidate must be qualified and physically capable to perform all required tasks. At times, the candidate may be required to augment Government personnel and perform scheduled & unscheduled maintenance, servicing, etc. No in-route or on-site formal training is provided—therefore candidates must have prior maintenance experience (although preferred, experience does not have to have been within the USAF).

FSRs conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements in accordance with customer specifications. FSRs troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determine technical solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommend actions to company or customer representatives for collaborative product solutions. The FSR assesses product needs in accordance with customer inputs. May be required to conduct informal (e.g. over-the-shoulder) training for Government personnel. Provides data in support of engineering investigations. FSRs work as an engineering liaison between NG engineering and the USAF, coordinating requests for depot-level repairs, electronic data and log/fault files, etc. Performs depot-level FSR-only tasks and depot-level Time Compliance Technical Orders. Notes recurring discrepancies or trends and initiates appropriate actions.

This position may require annual travel to a deployed location for several months per year. This position may require shift work plus weekends to provide appropriate coverage as determined by local customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry and/or database management operations in support of programs or products

  • Controlling data definitions within established data standards for existing applications

  • Maintaining database specifications by initiating or responding to database change requests

  • Updating and maintaining database records and tables as required. Verifying data files for accuracy

  • Monitoring and auditing database operations

  • Provides technical guidance and insight to US Government personnel on all matters of Global Hawk maintenance

  • Researches detailed schematics, diagrams and source data of weapon systems that are not available to AF personnel

  • Assists AF personnel with testing, troubleshooting, and subsequent repair of Global Hawk electrical, fuel, hydraulics, propulsion, and flight control systems in accordance with (IAW) Technical Orders and Company Engineering drawings

  • Serves as on-site point of contact between local site and Operation Support Center

  • Candidate may also deploy up to 25% of the time in support of other CONUS/OCONUS operations

  • This position will require a candidate to monitor and report Division Quality and Performance metrics

  • The candidate will also provide aircraft post-mission data for analysis of mission effectiveness and reliability, monitor and regulate all post-mission data requests, and coordinate and provide continual support of data archives, catalogs, storage, and distribution of all retrieved data via hard drive, disc, or other electronic methods

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and 2 years additional education and/or 4 years related experience

  • Prior aircraft avionics and airframe experience

  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertion including lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy objects exceeding 50 pounds)

  • Must obtain and maintain medical clearance to be world-wide deployable

  • Must possess a Secret security clearance, pass a background investigation to be able to access a base EAL and obtain a CAC card, and must already have or be able to obtain a passport

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior RQ-4 maintenance experience.

  • Air Force Avionics systems knowledge.

  • Experience and knowledge of Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) and aircraft forms.

  • Working knowledge of Air Force Instruction 21-101 (Aircraft and Equipment Maintenance Management).

Salary Range: 26.23 - 32.19

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
