Join the Northrop Grumman Chief Data Office as a Cloud Solution Engineer.

The job can be located in Northern Virginia (Fairfax/Falls Church), Maryland (Linthicum/Baltimore), or Redondo Beach, CA. Virtual/telecommuters will also be considered for this role.

The Cloud Solution Engineer will be responsible for working with the NG Cloud for AI team to design, build, and maintain PaaS environments build across multiple CSPs to meet critical business needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design, build, and implement automated, containerized cloud platform solutions for data platform & tools team

  • Design, build, and implement monitoring and scaling. Work with team members to automate and integrate new functionality

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a relevant technical field & 2 years software development experience; 0 years with Masters

  • Demonstrated experience with cloud computing technologies (AWS/Azure)

  • Proven ability to learn new technologies, techniques, processes, languages, platforms, and systems.

  • Experienced with articulating challenging technical concepts

  • Knowledge of software configuration management tools such as: Git and Jira

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development and administration using CloudFormation, ARM, or Terraform. 

  • Experience with Python/PowerShell or other scripting/automation languages

  • Experience working with APIs and Serverless technologies like Lambda and Azure Functions

  • Operations and systems administration experience

  • Azure or AWS Associate Certification

  • Familiarity with Agile software development practices, Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc)

  • Self-starter with the ability to independently resolve issues and deliver results

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to function in cross-functional teams

Salary Range: $74,900 USD - $112,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
