Northrop Grumman's Enterprise Services organization is seeking a Solutions Engineer within the Data Analytics Enablement organization. The incumbent will be working on exciting, cutting edge technology enabling Enterprise analytics at Northrop Grumman. We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic person who is excited about taking on a variety of engineering challenges as we continue to push our data analytics capabilities on premise and to the Cloud.

The selected individual will become an integral team member of Northrop Grumman’s Data Analytics Enablement team, and your tasks will include evaluating, developing, implementing, and testing Analytics services, as well as working with end users to develop requirements, translating those requirements into design/architecture, and providing end user onboarding and support.

The role must be able to work independently under the direction of the Manager of Data Analytics Enablement, have strong communication skills and be able to interface with all levels of ES Sector personnel. The successful candidate will be able to grasp information quickly and probe when additional information is needed, all while operating in a virtual teaming environment.

Activities include the ability to support the customer use / configuration of current Data Analytics Enablement tools (i.e. Tableau, Alteryx, SQL Server, and Hadoop); working with customers to solution / demonstrate value from DAE services in support of their respective service areas, and assisting the DAE organization with migration and stand up of next generation services to the Cloud.  Additionally, the role will assist with the development of the strategy, design and architectures for our Enterprise services offered on prem and in the Cloud. The candidate will be looked at as a subject matter expert in the Analytics domain space as it relates to commercial services available in Cloud, etc. and will work hand in hand with our customers helping them architect/design solutions and systems for deployment. 
This position can be hired at the Principal or Sr. Principal level, depending upon the individual's experience and education.
 




Basic Qualifications of the Principal Level:

• 5 years of relevant experience, with a Bachelors in Science degree or related discipline; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD
• Experience supporting high performance, high scalability, and high availability Enterprise applications
• Proven experience with the deployment, configuration, and support of Cloud hosted Analytics services (AWS or Azure preferred)
• Designing and building enterprise-scale data models, repositories, and integration systems
• Hands on Experience with Tableau, Alteryx, Hadoop, SQL Server or other similar data platforms/ analytics tools
• Practical experience with Cloud hosted Analytics Services in Azure or AWS
• Candidate should have experience working with and supporting end users and supporting project/program deployments
• Experience supporting and administering Enterprise or Cloud based tools
• Experience with of Big Data Tools (Hadoop), and Data Science languages (R, Python, Scala)
Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of API’s including SOAP and REST
• Familiarity with Virtual and Physical Architecture(s) (Linux and Windows)
• Experience working with network devices, servers, and databases
• System benchmarking and analysis/identification/resolution of system bottlenecks
• Proven ability to clearly articulate pros and cons of various technologies and platforms
• Ability to recognize and implement common data and software patterns and best practices.

• 9 years of relevant experience, with a Bachelors in Science degree or related discipline; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD

• Hands on experience with Tableau, Alteryx, Hadoop, SQL Server or other similar data platforms/ analytics tools
• Practical experience with Cloud hosted Analytics Services in Azure or AWS
• Candidate should have experience working with and supporting end users and supporting project/program deployments
• Experience supporting and administering Enterprise or Cloud based tools

• Ability to take on a strategic / lead role on an Agile and high performing team
• Experience leading SAFe Agile teams• Experiencing performing trade studies and developing, proposing Enterprise approaches to executive stakeholders
• Experience with Service Strategy, Design, and Operations (Product Management)
• AWS or Azure Certification a plus


Preferred Qualifications: 
 
• Ability to quickly learn and become productive on new technologies, APIs, development languages and frameworks.
• Experience with Agile methodology is a plus
• Experience with DevOps and site reliability engineering is preferred
• Able to troubleshoot technical problems effectively
