Northrop Grumman is seeking a Configuration Management Manager 1. This position will be located in Warner Robins, Georgia and will support the Subsystems and Software Sustainment Operating Unit, within the Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector. This location primarily supports the sustainment of embedded electronic systems on various USAF and foreign airborne platforms.
The successful candidate will manage a Computer Aided Design / Configuration Management / Document Management team which provides CAD/CM/DM support to various hardware and software programs. This will include staffing, budget planning, employee development and training, program support, goal development and time charging approval. Responsibilities also include reviewing, updating, and maintaining process documentation, auditing and evaluating process compliance, and implementing Corrective Actions resulting from audit findings.
The CAD/CM/DM Manager would be responsible for defining and implementing CAD/CM/DM related process improvements including the transition to a new Teamcenter based Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. Manager will support proposal and program related meetings and actions required to bid and execute CAD/CM/DM functional tasks.
Essential Functions:
Manage CAD/CM/DM team supporting both hardware and software programs including tasking, performance evaluations, and staffing forecasts
Perform labor forecasting and planning based on program schedules and coordination with program and other engineering managers
Measure the effectiveness of the team, tools and processes to identify areas for improvement
Support development, maintenance and execution of CAD/CM/DM processes and procedures ensuring they accurately reflect the appropriate controls and practices for successful program execution
Coordinate with programs and other functional area to ensure processes are understood and implemented
Preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met.
Reviewing contract requirements to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.
Support and Coordinate product design changes, including managing the Engineering Change Order process. Review and analyze released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years’ experience, (or 10 years’ experience in lieu of degree) supporting Hardware configuration management in a US Department of Defense contracting environment
2+ years of experience in a formal management position to include providing performance reviews for Direct Reports.
1+ years’ experience supporting software configuration management
Experience analyzing, evaluating, development and implementing processes and systems within budget and adhere to time requirements and schedule.
Able to work in a fast-paced production environment with ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands simultaneously.
Excellent communication, business analytical and problem-solving/trouble shooting skills.
Effective Customer Service skills/capabilities with a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally inside and outside the organization
Demonstrated experience developing or managing databases
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Secret Security Clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or another STEM field
5+ years’ experience supporting the development, sustainment, or deployment of US military electronic warfare, radar, avionics or sensor systems
Experience supporting basis of estimate development on proposals for DoD related technical programs over $5M
Experience with Microsoft Sharepoint development
Experience with Solidworks, AutoCAD, or other Computer Aided Design software in a DoD contract environment
