Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks an Applications Engineer III to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Washington, DC. This is a U.S. Treasury position with an 8-year period of performance contract with long term career growth opportunities.
The qualified applicant will help deliver Application Development and Enhancement Services, Systems Operations and Maintenance, Technical Project Planning and Management, Application Strategy and Architecture, and Website Design and Support Services.  As part of the team, you will be a key resource in modernization efforts to migrate legacy systems to the cloud and will support the U.S. Treasury Department’s future/state vision.


You will be a key resource in Treasury’s modernization efforts to migrate legacy systems to the cloud and to position for the future mission. Work includes code refactoring to more modern and current releases of development frameworks, implementation of DevSecOps, quality improvement for legacy systems, development and enhancements, and reducing operations and maintenance costs.
   

Basic Qualifications:
  • Candidate must have minimum of 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; OR 3 Years with Masters; OR 0 Years with PhD.
  • Experience analyzing and studying complex system requirements.
  • Experience designing software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses and manages their implementation.
  • Experience managing software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, other accepted design techniques and Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.
  • Experience estimating software development costs and schedules.
  • Experience reviewing existing programs and assist in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improving current techniques.
  • Experience supervising software configuration management.
  • Experience with Agile development, ServiceNow GRC implementation and integration, 508 Compliance, and Operations & Maintenance Support.
  • Candidate must have an active Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Splunk, Apache, Java, Bash, Sencha Ext JS (Java Script Library), Mongo, MySQL, Python, Java Script, Perl and/or PHP.
