We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer (MBSE) based out of Woodland Hills, CA.

As a Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. Essential Functions:

• Conduct successful architectural modeling and design experience and knowledge of vehicle control systems focused on automated control of manned vehicles, flight management (FMS) and flight director systems and preferably all aspects of vehicle control from starting point through destination (i.e. take-off through landing).

• Demonstrate a clear understanding of the capabilities, limitations and design philosophy of systems involved in the control of manned aircraft including related subsystems, equipment, equipment suppliers, failure modes, and design, simulation, test and integration, and verification methods and tools.

• Use SCADE and MATLAB Simulink design modeling tools and with airworthiness criteria and certification.

WOODLANDHILLS

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) related discipline with 5 years of relevant experience; Master’s degree in STEM related discipline with 3 years of relevant experience; PhD in STEM related discipline with 0 years experience.

OR

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) related discipline with 9 years of relevant experience; Master’s degree in STEM related discipline with 7 years of relevant experience; PhD in STEM related discipline with 3 years experience.

AND

• Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate to team members, customers, and suppliers

• Experience in MBSE architecture development of systems.
• Experience in traceability between ICDs with architecture elements in Cameo.
• Experience modeling systems, subsystems, components, interfaces, and verification paths.
• Demonstrated expertise in hands-on MBSE modeling in Cameo.
• Ability to mentor other engineers in MBSE principles and tool usage.

• Strong requirement development and management skills.

• Must have ability to obtain security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using DOORS.

• Experience designing or modeling of aircraft controls.

• Knowledge and experience with automated piloting of manned helicopters.

• Knowledge of automated aircraft controls supporting take-off, landing and in-flight phases.

• Knowledge of SCADE modeling toolset.


Salary Range: 101200 - 151800
Salary Range 2: 125500 - 188300

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
