Northrop Grumman in Woodland Hills, CA is seeking Engineering Aides which will employ Software Engineering students so that the student can gain experience in applied engineering skills in the aerospace industry.   

This position is part-time and intended to weave in with the candidate’s college level course work.  The hours may vary from week to week depending on the needs of the engineering team.  These hours will be precoordinated with the employee and their manager. Successful candidates for these positions will perform tasks at the direction of the Software Manager or their delegates in support of engineering efforts.  These tasks may include, but are not limited to the following and can grow in technical complexity as the employee gains technical skill though education or OJT.

Aid Lead Engineers in planning and setting up work for engineering teams. Perform engineering documentation or software repository organization. Support engineering tasks as required by the Software Manager or their delegate.

This position requires 100% onsite work at the Woodland Hills campus with the possibility of remote work at the discretion of the manager.


Basic Requirements:

  • HS Diploma/GED and enrollment in a 2-year college intending to obtain a AS Degree or matriculate to a 4 year college in Computer Science or Computer Engineering curriculums.  The emphasis of programs will be software development. 
  • Have completed or in process of completing programing classes in C and Matlab. 
  • Ability to commute on a regular basis to the Northrop Grumman facility in Woodland Hills, CA
  • US Citizenship is required in order to obtain and maintain security clearance

Preferred Requirements:

  • Enrolled in an Object-Oriented software and/or modeling class.
  • Experience with Simulink, Jira, and/or Git hub. 

Salary Range: $32,500 USD - $54,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
