We are looking for you to join our team as a Signal/Image Processing Engineer based out of Woodland Hills, CA.  As a Signal/Image Processing Engineer at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. What You’ll get to Do:

In this role, the selected candidate will join a staff of signal/image processing engineers, systems engineers, and software engineers that supports the development of signal and image processing algorithms and software used for detection, tracking, and classification. In this position you will develop and prototype new algorithms or enhancements to existing algorithms, and work in close collaboration with software engineers who implement the algorithms in configured software products. The position requires familiarity with remote sensing, geophysical phenomenology, and classical signal processing techniques. In addition, the department makes use of artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) and incorporates recent developments in data science and AI/ML.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Introducing and developing new algorithm components for signal and image processing, detection, tracking, and classification
  • Interfacing with software engineers to ensure implemented algorithms are correct, robust, and maintainable
  • Creating presentation material to explain and document work, and presenting to internal and external stakeholders

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Signal/Image Processing Engineer are:

  • 5 years of experience with a Bachelors of Science in a STEM discipline; 3 years of experience with Masters; 0 Years with a PhD
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Academic background and/or on-the-job experience in signal/image processing
  • Facility with Matlab and/or Python
  • Demonstrated oral and written presentation skills

Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Signal/Image Processing Engineer are:

  • 9 years of experience with a Bachelors of Science in a STEM discipline; 7 years of experience with Masters; 4 Years with a PhD
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Academic background and/or on-the-job experience in signal/image processing
  • Facility with Matlab and/or Python
  • Demonstrated oral and written presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with C / C++
  • Experience with development and application of AI/ML, and demonstrated ability to keep current with developments in AI/ML

Salary Range: $111,600 USD - $167,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $138,300 USD - $207,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
