We are looking for you to join our team as a Manager Systems Engineering 2 for Integration & Test based out of Woodland Hills, CA.  As a Manager Systems Engineering 2 for Integration & Test at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. What You’ll get to Do:

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manager Systems Engineering 2 for Integration & Test to join our team. This position is in Woodland Hills, CA. You’ll join our experts in the Mission Systems Sector in developing systems and solutions that keep our world safe.

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems SoCal Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SoCal SEIT) team. The SoCal SEIT Department provides systems engineering support to all product areas across Navigation and Positioning Systems (NAPS), Integrated Digital Systems (IDS) Systems, Future Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (FPNT), and Artificial Intelligence & Algorithms (AI&A). The Systems Integration & Test Team is responsible for developing and maintaining the system-level verification processes during all phases of product development and manufacturing including system integration and qualification. This group operates at the nexus of all engineering disciplines to verify the products meet customer requirements. This position will oversee the team that supports Legacy Navigators, Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), and Environmental Test. The successful applicant shall have ability to lead the execution of verification campaigns, drive cross-functional partnerships, and cultivate the talent bench. This position is 20% Functional management and 80% direct program support.

• Assist in the development and implementation of department vision and strategies to drive employee engagement; conduct hiring, training, and development of top talent; balance process compliance against innovation; and reduce bureaucracy

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other related discipline and a minimum of 9 years of progressive engineering experience or a Master’s degree in Engineering or other related discipline and a minimum of 7 years of progressive engineering experience.
• Strong written and oral Communications skills
• A proven track record of leading a team of engineering, establishing strong cross-functional relationships, and managing stakeholder expectations (internal and external).
• Experienced in metrics-based cost estimating and the use of prior actual costs to support Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for engineering estimates
• US Citizenship is required in order to obtain and maintain security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

• Master’s degree in an Engineering discipline
• Demonstrated passion for developing people, personally and professionally
• Prior experience in NAPS or IDS engineering environments
• Experience in the development of military airborne electronics
• Knowledge of/experience with emerging (e.g., DO-178, DO-254) development processes highly desired
• Working knowledge of Model-Based Engineering methods and tools
• Test & Evaluation background at the component, LRU, system level, involving requirements analysis, test planning, execution, data analysis, and reporting
• Experience in Earned Value program practices
• Experience working in Waterfall and Agile environments
• Position prefers a candidate with a current Secret Clearance

Salary Range: $143,500 USD - $215,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
