Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) sector is seeking a hands-on Technician to join the Test Equipment Sustainment team in Woodland Hills, CA. The Test Equipment Sustainment team supports the Manufacturing and Engineering organizations within various business areas at the Woodland Hills site. The candidate will support the repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance of various manufacturing equipment within the Woodland Hills site to ensure production continues to run with as few interruptions due to equipment malfunctions as possible.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Performs diagnostics and troubleshooting on various pieces of electro-mechanical test & manufacturing equipment including but not limited to CNCs, etchers, rate tables, temperature chambers, vacuum chambers, pumps, cryo-pumps, chillers and computerized test sets.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment either on a set schedule or as needed.
  • Constantly seek for opportunities for cost savings, efficiency, quality, and equipment reliability improvement and take initiatives to implement it.
  • Develop enhanced preventive maintenance plans and detail writing procedures.
  • Update and maintain accurate inventory of parts used to maintain and repair equipment.
  • Performs calibration on equipment on a set schedule.
  • Provide daily status updates to the process engineers and manufacturing management.
  • Corrects malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts or components as directed.
  • Uses hand and small power tools, and various measuring and testing devices in performing job duties.
  • May be required to work with hazardous materials, wear safety equipment and follow strict safety rules and regulations.
  • Work with internal supply chain team and external vendors to order parts and coordinate external vendor services as needed.


Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 6+ years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Experience disassembling complex manufacturing process and test equipment to troubleshoot and repair and carefully reassemble it back together.
  • Must be comfortable using computers and Microsoft office products such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiar with all common lab test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzer, DMMs, hand tools etc.
  • Must be flexible to potentially work second shift or weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience repairing or calibrating single axis, two axis, or three axis Rate Tables.
  • Strong proven ability to quickly analyze, isolate, troubleshoot, and fix problems with digital circuitry.
  • Experience developing preventive maintenance plan and procedure.
  • Experience repairing legacy PCs (DOS, Windows Group 3.0, Win 95, Win 98, XP, Win 7, etc.)

Salary Range: $64,900 USD - $108,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
