At Northrop Grumman, you’ll have the resources, support, and team to do some of the best work of your career.   Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Director General Manufacturing 1 based out of Woodland Hills, CA.   What You’ll get to Do:
The Woodland Hills Operations Director position reports to the Navigation, Targeting, and Survivability VP of Operations, and is responsible for all Manufacturing (MFG), Global Supply Chain (GSC), and Mission Assurance (MA) organizational performance at Woodland Hills. The Director 1 has organizational responsibility for over 150 employees. This position will be the primary interface to the NAPs and IDS business units, and coordinate closely with the program operating units to meet operational cost, schedule, and performance requirements across operations. Other responsibilities include:
  • Provide Leadership, Management and Strategy skills integrate MFG, GSC, and MA into a cohesive organization.  
  • Be able to direct and lead the organization in support of the Annual Operating Plan and Long Range Strategic Plan.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in areas such as: technical guidance, process development, continuous improvement, safety, producibility, capacity and production planning, MTA/Capital/Facility planning, cost/benefit analysis, Manpower planning and staffing, Talent Plus execution, workforce engagement, and merit planning.  
  • Support the various business area Vice Presidents as the liaison towards all business requirements and milestones.

Basic Qualifications: 
  • Minimum of a BS degree in Engineering, Science or related technical field with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous experience and ability leading and managing a diverse team.
  • Minimum Current active interim US Secret level security clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; including the ability to effectively present to upper management.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic and high visibility environment.
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Manufacturing Production Leadership experience.
  • Experience with ISO9001/AS9100.
  • Demonstrated Agile or Six Sigma tools (ex. Scrum Master, Green Belt, Black Belt).
  • Demonstrated basic understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools such as SAP and Materials Requirement Planning (MRP).
  • Experience working across multiple disciplines (mission assurance, global supply chain, subcontract management, design, manufacturing, test engineering) and focus on product development and producibility.
  • Working knowledge of financial management including project & process control and budgets, to include familiarity with DCAA and FAR regulations.
  • Working knowledge of industry and management methodologies focused on continuous improvement in manufacturing, such as ISO 9000, Total Quality Management or Six Sigma.
