Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has TWO openings for SCA Electronics Technicians to join our team in Yorktown, VA to support the U.S. Navy's Mk48 Heavyweight Torpedo program.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Perform a variety of routine preventative/corrective maintenance operations on various electro-mechanical test equipment utilizing approved documentation

  • Routinely use hazardous material in the conduct of maintenance operations

  • Conduct routine Ordnance Handling Evolutions within the facility using specific designed equipment

  • Use common electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters and logic analyzers to troubleshoot equipment failures

  • Submit request to government for publication corrections or deviations from publications

  • Perform all work in a strict procedural compliant manner

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED and 2 years additional related work experience

  • Must be proficient in troubleshooting (board/component level) and problem solving using associated devices such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and schematics

  • Ability to meet annual screening per OPNAV 5530/1 (Report of Screening for Personnel Assigned AA&E Security Related Duties). Items checked include, but not limited to, Criminal History Record Information, Foreign Influence, Financial History

  • Demonstrated work experience using common hand tools and basic electronic equipment

  • Ability to pass a physical exam for an Explosive Handler position

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as steel toe shoes and a variety of gloves

  • Demonstrated experience using MS application (Word, Excel, Access)

  • Current Interim Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or military equivalent in electronics technologies and 2 years additional education and/or related experience

  • Previous experience with manufacturing, testing and troubleshooting systems

  • 4+ years of related experience in the MK48 Heavyweight Torpedo program or similar Ordnance programs through the military or performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting in an industrial setting

  • Experience using common hand tools, oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers

  • Military Explosive Handler Qualifications


Salary Range: $1 USD - $26 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
