Northrop Grumman, Aeronautics Systems, has an opening for an Administrative Assistant 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located onsite El Segundo California.

Successful candidate will be a vital member of a program and capture team and perform in an administrative leadership role, which by nature of the position involves high-level contacts and exposure to sensitive program, new business, personnel and technical information necessitating considerable use of tact, diplomacy, discretion, and judgment.  

In the administrative assistant role, the selected candidate will perform diverse administrative responsibilities for multiple programs. The selected candidate must be well-organized and able to handle a wide range of assignments on time.  The individual must be an exceptional team player, collaborative, self-motivated, detail oriented, assertive as necessary and able to work with minimal supervision.  


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Communicates with executive, administrative, customer and management personnel to gather or convey relevant information.
  • Coordinates internal and external briefings/presentations, management meetings and customer interface and customer visits
  • Responsible for maintaining Director’s schedules and coordinating critical customer and management meetings
  • Coordinates calendars, extensive, frequently changing travel arrangements, expense reports and all forms of correspondence
  • Position may require some overtime
  • Coordinates briefings/presentations and performs all normal secretarial, administrative, and clerical duties of the senior administrative assistant.
  • Maintains calendars for respective managers and coordinating critical customer and management meetings.
  • Provides coordination of extensive, frequently changing travel arrangements, expense reports and all forms of correspondence
  • Perform normal office functions such as setting up and maintaining files.
  • Arrange meetings and conferences.
  • Review drafts and finished documents for appropriate grammatical usage.
  • Answer questions relating to office operations and established policies and procedures.
  • Gather, compile and report on information relevant to supervisor’s assignment.  
  • Establish relationships and collaborate administrative processes across sites with stakeholders and subject matter experts to fulfill the needs of communications directories.  

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School/GED diploma plus 3 years of experience as an administrative assistant or performing administrative related work.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word or Outlook).
  • Candidate must have a DoD Secret clearance and be able to obtain and maintain program access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Active Top Secret DOD Clearance
  • Experience using Concur

Salary Range: $51,800 USD - $86,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
