Northrop Grumman’s Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) is seeking an Administrative Assistant Level 3 or Level 4 to join our team of diverse individuals in Redondo Beach, CA.

The Administrative Assistant will support 4 Directors and the Business Management Cost team on all SSSD Programs. Although most personnel reside within the programs they support, they seek information and referrals from the Administrative Assistant 4. There will be minimal supervision for this role therefore, the candidate will need to be self-sufficient in seeking solutions to issues raised and questions asked by department personnel. The ideal candidate for this role should enjoy working with people and being the focal point for information. They should also be comfortable with providing support to multiple managers within the office bay. There will be extensive interface with multiple service organizations including Travel, Talent Acquisition, Human Relations, Information Technology, Facilities, Security, Property and other Administrative Assistants.  The candidate selected must possess strong communication, time management, and organizational skills and be able to maintain superior attendance and punctuality.

This role requires the candidate to have an active Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret (TS) Clearance and/or Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) Access.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintenance of Outlook calendars for multiple Senior Managers
  • Coordination of meetings and conferences
  • Preparation of power point briefings; development of word documents
  • Setting up interviews for internal and external candidates
  • Making travel arrangements
  • Submitting expense reports
  • Coordinating employee moves ; requesting desktop computers for new employees; moving tagged property; requesting phones/move phones; requesting computer disconnects/reconnects
  • Assisting with the logistics of setting up training courses
  • Ordering supplies through various sources
  • Maintaining various databases on department personnel
  • Sending out department wide communications ; and editing periodic department newsletters
  • Updating tagged equipment locations and users
  • Reconciling communications device usage
  • Distribution and coordination of action items to managers

This role can be filled at either a Level 3 or Level 4 as outlined below in the Basics Qualifications.

Level 3 - Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Degree OR; General Education Diploma GED
  • 4 years’ of progressive Administrative/Clerical work experience
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel and Outlook
  • An active TS Clearance and/or SCI Access

Level 4 - Basic Qualifications: 

  • High School Degree OR; General Education Diploma GED
  • 6 years’ of progressive Administrative/Clerical work experience
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel and Outlook
  • An active TS Clearance and/or SCI Access


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of the following systems: iBuy, The Edge, Concur, ARAMARK, RequestIT, Archibus, AssetSmart, ARCS, Remedy, and CSR.

Salary Range: $51,800 USD - $86,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $63,800 USD - $106,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
