Are you ready to put your years of experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, our Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Principal Mission Planner to join our mission-focused team at Whiteman, AFB.
As a member of the B-2 team at Whiteman AFB, you will work with highly experienced teammates to develop an unparalleled understanding of B-2 aircraft systems, subsystems, integration, and future capability development. You will support aircraft upgrades, research and resolve technical issues, and assist with determining test procedures to verify system operation. Additionally, you will utilize gained B-2 expertise to provide technical support to B-2 maintainers and pilots.
Provide aircraft and spacecraft mission planning to include integration, support services and flight or ground operations services to accomplish test, training and/or operational objectives. Assess mission issues, risks, and develops resolutions to meet customer objectives. Acts as the central point of contact to ensure adherence to procedures and meet mission success. Develop routing and contingency logic, as required. Produces related mission planning products for customers to review mission tasking and applicable intelligence. Develop all training, exercise support and contingency operations in accordance with applicable standards. Coordinates airspace requirements with applicable agencies depending on flight profiles. May be responsible for ensuring all cost, schedule and technical requirements of assigned mission and projects are coordinated, prepared and accurate.
Roles and Responsibilities
Serves as a Mission Planner for B-2 operational Mission Planning Support Services at Whiteman AFB, MO
Plans and executes mission planning operations for long-range strike accomplished by the B-2 Spirit weapons system for U.S. Air Force
Ensures configuration of operational computer systems system monitors and subsystem performance. Establishes and applies operational procedures, support requirements, and mission materials required to control and operate the aircraft, weapons, and defensive systems
Configures the operational system aircraft employment tools for consistent techniques and tactics
Provides tactical expertise to the aircrew customer and the 509th Bomb Wing
Deploy as required to provide mission planning services at deployed locations
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor's degree and 6 years’ directly related work experience as an aircrew member, intelligence officer, or a weapons background or 10 years’ experience in these related fields may be considered in lieu of the degree
Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain Top Secret level security clearance and the ability to attain and maintain a program clearance and SCI
Preferred Qualifications:
Current Top Secret level security clearance and the ability to attain and maintain a program clearance and SCI
Experience as a Mission Planner using JMPS software
Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security +)
