Northrop Grumman Defense Systems designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our products include launch vehicles, propulsion systems, missile products, subsystems and defense electronics, precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition, satellites and space components and services, and advanced aerospace structures.

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking a Manager in Supply Chain Programs to join our team in Rocket Center, West Virginia, just outside of Cumberland, Maryland.

The Allegany Ballistics Laboratory (ABL) site in Rocket Center, designs, develops and manufactures tactical rocket motors, medium caliber ammunition, composite components and end items, and fuze and electronics equipment. For decades, the dedicated and highly skilled team at ABL has supported national security efforts by developing and building defense systems for DoD customers and U.S. allies.

Role description & Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises a group of Supply Chain Planning Specialists (Material Program Managers) and Supply Chain Manufacturing Specialists (Material Planners)
  • Responsible and accountable for planning and execution of material services for a collection of Fuzing programs
  • Acts as a focal point for the Program Management Office (PMO) for the supply chain and coordinates cross-functionally to ensure that all supply chain commitments are met
  • Ensures appropriate mitigation plans are developed and executed to address any programmatic risks related to suppliers
  • Leads supply chain Program execution and is accountable for resource planning, material and subcontract cost, forecasting, schedule performance, risk/opportunity management, supplier performance, and supply chain issue resolution
  • Briefs the PMO and plant management on the status and issues affecting Program cost and schedule performance
  • Support several programs directly in Material Program Manager role

Basic Qualifications:

•     6 years with Bachelor’s OR 4 years with Masters OR a High School Diploma with 10 years of experience within the Supply Chain Field in management.
•    Experience using Microsoft Word and MS Office
•    Eligible to obtain a DoD Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite

 

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Supply Chain experience with Electronic Fuzing programs
•    Experience with forecasting and planning with an emphasis on driving execution
•    Experience with using highly analytical approaches to problem solving
•    Ability to maintain an organized workload and high attention to detail
 
This position falls under a Federal Explosives License issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for this location.  Candidates hired into this role will be required to complete and submit an Employee Possessor Questionnaire to ATF for approval to be a possessor.

Salary Range: $96,700 USD - $145,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
