Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Systems Group is seeking an Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO)/ Factory Security Operations to support our Gilbert, AZ location. This position is required to fulfill the need to support Security Factory operations and DoD collateral programs located in Gilbert AZ.

Primary Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Applies government regulations relevant to the protection of classified information and equipment.
  • Prepares Standard Operating Procedures for handling, storing, and protecting classified information and assets.
  • Provide access/maintain DoD closed areas.
  • Facilitates personnel access to the site via applicable databases.
  • Conducts courier training and prepares classified packages for transport.
  • Process visit requests and orchestrate classified visits/meetings.
  • Manage DoD level programs.
  • Assist with on-site inspections/assessments required by government regulations.
  • Assist Facility Security Officer (FSO) with oversight of the Industrial Security Program and share the daily workload of running the Gilbert AZ security office.
  • Attend I&T Scheduling meetings.
  • Escort alarm maintenance contractors.
  • Conduct alarm response activations.
  • Perform Entry Exit inspections.
  • Deliver and post monthly facility access reports.
  • Assist program CPSO on compliance requirements.

Additional Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Attend Integration and Test (I&T) Scheduling meetings.
  • Escort alarm maintenance contractors.
  • Conduct alarm response activations.
  • Perform Entry Exit inspections.
  • Deliver and post monthly facility access reports.
  • Assist program CPSO on compliance requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • A current, active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI clearance
  • 6 years of experience in security with a Bachelor’s degree (an additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree) or 4 years of experience in security with a Master’s degree
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills, and the ability to effectively interact with staff and customers at all levels.
  • Thorough knowledge of 32 CFR PART 117 NISPOM, 5205.07 V 1-4 and other applicable security regulations and requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience as an Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO)


Salary Range: $74,600 USD - $111,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
