Are You ready to put your experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, our Platform Laboratory Systems & Design (PLSD) group wants YOU to join our team as a Associate Mechanical Engineer/Mechanical Engineer (Level 1/2) and join our team of qualified and diverse individuals in Oklahoma City, OK.

You will become part of a Northrop Grumman team of professionals who are actively supporting the development of Special Test Equipment, Enhanced Ground & Flight Test components, and Production Aerospace Systems for the B-2 Stealth Bomber and LGM-35A Sentinel platforms.


  • Oversight and ownership of engineering design as well as 2D/3D drawing formats and standards for a wide array of mechanical products:

    • Product details

    • Product assemblies

    • Test Bench/Bay assemblies

    • Top Level installations

  • Development and coordination for internal and customer design reviews for the mechanical and system level designs of our products

  • Development of supporting documentation (operating / user manuals, etc.) for our products

  • Assist in troubleshooting of lab equipment as failures occur

  • Coordination with lab engineering manager to ensure product technical data packages meet project schedule commitments

  • Coordinate between several internal and external stakeholder groups (Software Development, System Test, Computer / IT Operations, Procurement, etc.) to achieve contractual commitments

Basic Qualifications:

This position may be hired at an Associate Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Engineer.

  • Associate Mechanical Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent)

  • Mechanical Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent) with 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree with 0 years of related engineering experience

  • U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance & specific program access

  • Ability to listen effectively, take direction, and possess initiative to accomplish assigned tasks and complete work in a timely fashion

  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering

  • Active DoD SECRET or higher security clearance with investigation in the last five (5) years

  • Active Program clearance

  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary technical teams

  • Experience in Aerospace or Defense industry (development or test)

  • Experience in an Agile development environment

  • Experience in Instrumentation or Avionics Systems

  • Experience with any of the following CAD Software Tools and Data Management Products: CATIA, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Siemens Capital, SEE Electrical Expert, Microsoft Visio, National Instruments LabView, SmarTeam, Team Center

  • Experience in Hydraulic systems

  • Experience in Additive Manufacturing or 3D-Print design & technologies

Salary Range: $52,200 USD - $78,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $0 USD - $65,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
