Join Northrop Grumman Mission Systems and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world’s most complex technical challenges. The Networked Information Solutions Division is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team in San Diego, CA.

The successful applicant for this position will be responsible for all aspects of Business Development including customer engagement; opportunity identification, qualification, and capture; pipeline administration; strategy development; and keeping senior BD and line leaders up to date on the status and progress of ongoing activities. The selected candidate will work across the organization to help shape, quality and prioritize opportunities. The candidate will support capture and campaign strategy activity, and continuously manage the new business pipeline against the long-range strategic and annual operating plans. .  This highly visible and impactful role is critical to our strategic focus areas within the Division.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or similar technical field plus 10 years of relevant business development, project management experience, civil service or military experience. 4 years of additional experience in lieu of education.
  • Experience with US Department of Defense acquisition processes.
  • Working knowledge of military communications, networking and/or command and control systems, tactics and procedures
  • Multi-year experience in applying an understanding of operational requirements and acquisition process to developing strategy for portfolio development
  • Ability to prioritize multiple opportunities and technical requirements to those with best expected outcome
  • Experience working in one or more of the business domains Tactical data links, small form factor products, space segment or Nuclear Command, Control, and Communication (NC3)
  • Ability to partner with technical teams to translate technical features into operational benefits
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to explain complex concepts and systems to customers and shape their decision process.
  • Candidate must possess the ability to build and manage business development teams, particularly through influential leadership.
  • A results driven attitude and a proven capability of working in a collaborative environment across distributed locations and organizations.
  • Current SECRET clearance (recent investigation completed)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business, engineering, national security studies or equivalent
  • Knowledge of major US Department of Defense acquisition organizations, military communications customers or planning/requirements organizations for military comms
  • Eligibility for TS/SCI Clearance

Salary Range: $160,200 USD - $240,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
