Sperry Marine USA (a Northrop Grumman Subsidiary) is looking to grow the market share in the USA which has been identified as the country that contains the largest revenue potential within the Americas region. A large number of influential customer prospects reside in the region, which cannot be covered off by current staffing head count and nationality.

Placing a regional presence in the area provides Sperry Marine USA refit & new build business globally. Furthermore, many customers have expressed their apprehension to do business with Sperry Marine in the vicinity unless a local representative is present. This SEA will ensure focus/continuing business development in deep sea tanker, bulk carrier, container, ferry and tow business area with a goal of growing this region from ~$400k (Sales and Service) in 2022 to $5M by 2026, not including indirect new build business which would impact other regions of the globe.  Likewise, this employee will split his/her time to market and sell to both Commercial and US Government (defence). 

Skills & Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g. electrical engineering, Information Technology or similar), business (e.g. business administration, business commerce) or maritime certification (e.g. sea-going or land based) and 6 years’ experience in Business Development, B2B sales or project co-ordination environment preferably working with commercial or industrial electronics

OR

  • Commensurate experience in a maritime environment with working knowledge of navigation procedures and principles.
  • Knowledge of Marine Navigation and Communication Electronics (Radars, Gyrocompasses, VHF radios, VDR’s etc.).
  • Knowledge of IT system design and network architectures such TCP/IP, UDP.
  • Experience balancing multiple priorities and multiple projects at the same time
  • Strong numeracy and problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, fluency in English.
  • Strong knowledge and experience using MS Office products
     

Desirable:

  • Master’s or postgraduate degree in relevant discipline
  • Navigation systems definition, design, integration, acceptance and analysis experience
  • Knowledge of marine specific standards (e.g. IEC 60945, IEC61162-1/2/450/460) and Class society navigation Regulations (USCG / Lloyds etc.).

Salary Range: $90,400 USD - $135,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
