Northrop Grumman Space Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Capture Manager based out of Redondo Beach, CA. The Capture Manager is responsible for the capture strategy, campaigns, product line application, and strategic direction and execution of all aspects of the capture.  Duties include strategic, capture campaign identification, management, and execution in line with Business Development and Annual Operating Plan roadmap, goals, milestones, and strategy.  The Capture Manager leads business development capture activities and teams to secure new or re-compete contracts, or task order business.  The Capture Manager develops the capture strategy including business solutions for pursuit of opportunities; identifies potential customers, competitive assessments, teaming strategy, agreements and suppliers, coordinates with other divisions and sectors within the Northrop Grumman, and prices-to-win; participates in bid and proposal activities and maintains on-going interaction with marketing and government relations entities.

What you’ll get to do:

The Capture Manager is responsible for daily operations of a capture team or capture work unit (direct supervision of the staff, assignment of work, schedules, day to day workflow, and operating costs).  Capture Manager responsibilities include cost, schedule, and performance of a specific capture activity within all assigned capture and proposal activities.  Work is reviewed for adequacy in meeting business development and capture pipeline objectives. The Capture Manager ensures that all capture and proposal teams adhere to sound capture management and Business Acquisition Process (BAP) processes in accordance with company quality standards per Northrop Grumman business development procedures and practices.

Our ideal candidate will also report to the Business Development Manager the status and management of the capture, proposal, and systems engineering teams, and also serves as the capture manager to active program teams to ensure the broader Northrop Grumman capabilities are exploited and the active program’s needs for program growth are met.  The Capture Manager coordinates capture and proposal activities across the broader Integrated National Systems Business Unit (BU) to ensure collaboration within the Business Unit portfolio and associated Business Development, Capture, and Systems Engineering teams. 

Basic Qualifications:  

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance required to start
  • 14 Years with Bachelors STEM, or 12 Years with Masters, or 9 Years with PhD
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with Business Development or Capture Management execution and management
  • Experience leading capture and proposal teams 
  • Experience in systems engineering, development, integration, and test  
  • Domain expertise in Satellite Command and Control and Mission Planning
  • Good communication and presentation skills 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Master’s degree in STEM or Business Administration/Management
  • Domain expertise in Electronic Warfare systems, Radar Systems, and Space Domain Awareness
  • Domain Expertise in Communication Systems
  • Domain Expertise in Resiliency of Space Systems
  • Domain expertise in Environmental Sensing (e.g. Weather)
  • Experience with subcontracts and/or Inter/Intracompany Work Order (IWO)
  • Active Top Secret/SCI

This position reports to Redondo Beach, CA, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Aurora, CO, CO, USA.


Salary Range: $176,100 USD - $264,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
