Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is seeking a Capture Manager. The successful candidate will work closely with all of Northrop Grumman’s functional organizations leadership team, internal marketing or government relations teams and other industry and government partners. In this role the ideal candidate will lead capture efforts to secure new opportunities, re-compete contracts, or task order business. Capture leads play a critical role in the organization by growing and leading teams that develop and execute capture plans including architecting the technical and business strategy; leading competitive assessments and prices-to-win; conduct gap assessments and define potential supplier or teaming approach; and lead bid and proposal activities.
This position requires you to work at one of the primary work sites below. Travel required based on business needs.

We are seeking a qualified candidate excited to join our Space Sector Business Development team chartered with guiding customer engagement and strategy for our Sector Priority Win (SPW) programs. This highly motivated, proactive, and self-starting candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with our industry leading program and capture teams and innovative industry partners. This individual will play a primary role in the development and support of our SPW strategy development and support. Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead capture activities for space programs including pipeline management and growth and customer engagement.
- Simultaneously lead multiple opportunity pursuits and be capable of transitioning an opportunity from assessment through pursuit and contract award.
- Focus on the upfront Business Acquisition Process (BAP) phases 0-3 (early positioning through pursuit/bid gate) of the SPWs and the NG Space Sector “Big Rocks”
- Develop shaping strategies and win strategies for SPWs
- Help lead and support advocacy councils led by Corporate G; Government Relations; Drive closure on advocacy plans and actions.
- Flow insights from customer engagements and stakeholders into capture and shaping strategy.
- Coordinate and collaborate with line of business management, strategy, business and finance, contracts and global supply chain, technology and engineering offices and functions.
- Support proposal development including managing process, writing proposal responses and developing pricing.
Basic Qualifications:
- Basic qualifications are skills that all applicants must possess in order to be considered for the position.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
- 9+ years' experience with customer management, strategic communications, capture, and/or business development.
- 5+ years’ experience in a management/leadership role.
- Knowledge and experience within the government, civil and space launch market.
- Knowledge of the DoD acquisition processes.
- Experience working within cross functional teams.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Broad, enterprise-wide view and understanding of strategy, processes, and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance.
- Must be US Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred qualifications are possible skills, knowledge, abilities and competencies that candidates may or may not possess.
- MBA or MS degree in relevant field.
- Active Top Secret and/or SCI Clearance or Ability to obtain a TS/SCI
- Proven experience within the Aerospace & Defense Market
- Knowledge of and relationships with key space customers in the Department of Defense, National Security, and Civilian communities
- Experience with the DOD and National Security acquisition processes including supporting processes such as requirements development and budgeting
- Technical fluency. Ability to understand and engage in discussion about space-based mission capability, system architecture, and technology.
- Strong business acumen and proven track record of providing innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Experience leading and managing geographically dispersed teams.
