We are looking for you to join our team as an Engineering Technical Services Manager with our Mission Systems Sector, based out of San Diego, CA.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Engineering Technical Services Manager.  The Manager will be responsible to support the Joint All-Domain Gateway (JAD-G) Operating Unit (OU), within the Networked Solutions (NS) Business Unit.  This position will be located in San Diego, CA.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision/management of Integration Engineering staff within the JAD-G OU, primarily supporting the Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN) program, across the portfolio of BACN Task Orders
  • Provide Technical Management of Technicians and Technical Services Engineers of System Integration Labs (SILs)
  • Coordinate resources for support of SIL technical needs including cable fabrication, troubleshooting, ISE/RFI procedures, rack fabrication, and maintenance
  • Coordinate resources with deployed teams and sites as well as with ILS and Production as needed. 
  • Responsible for SIL Support Lab environment and staff compliance with safety requirements
  • Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to direct reports
  • Planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a work package, subsystem, or related group of work packages on system development-type contracts and/or sustainment contracts
  • Assists with integration and testing of a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; networking and other communications equipment and systems
  • Lead integration technical activities for other JAD-G programs within the organization, to include Gateway and other networking efforts
  • Will assist the Integration IPT on proposals, to include authoring and approving Basis of Estimates (BOEs), as well as Technical Volume inputs; support Control Account Manager (CAM) activities and Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Support and participate in external and internal audits as required
  • Ensure all Integration engineering contractual requirements are being met, to include Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) and non-CDRL deliverables

Basic Qualifications for Manager Engineering Technical Services 2:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 7 years of experience; OR 5 years of experience with a Masters degree.
  • Proficient in Windows, MS Word, Excel, Visio, and Power Point
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following: engineering integration, hardware installations, and/or experience with hands-on network configurations
  • Clearance: Candidate must currently have and be able to maintain an active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance
  • Ability to travel 10% of your time

Preferred Qualifications for Manager Engineering Technical Services 2:

  • 7 years of relevant experience in Integration Engineering
  • Prior engineering functional management experience (executing performance appraisals, staffing allocations, design process leadership, and career goals development)
  • Prior experience as a Department of Defense (DoD) contractor
  • Knowledge of military electronics and payloads subsystems
  • Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM)
  • Experience with executing proposals, to include generating labor estimates

Salary Range: $122,200 USD - $183,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
