The Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit is seeking a Business Development Manager for Mission Management / Mission Control markets focused on the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.  The position is located in Redondo Beach, CA and will report to the INS Director of Strategy and Business Development within the Payload and Ground Systems Division of Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector. The primary responsibility is to lead the INS business development team in the creation and execution of a comprehensive strategy to capture new business opportunities and implement best practices across the BU to produce compelling capture approaches.  Programs of interest focus on DoD (SSC, SDA), IC and adjacent opportunities to include both new starts and development/expansion of existing programs. 

The selected candidate will be responsible for the development, assessment, and cultivation of new opportunities for DoD and IC mission management / mission control programs and development and maturation of contact plans with customer organizations and influencers. The individual is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for identifying and maturing initial capture targets, market/mission expansion, and effectively marketing the business unit’s products and capabilities to meet customer needs, thereby translating business opportunities into contact plans, strategic win themes, and supporting capture teams and wins. The individual will work and collaborate with a team of business developers, INS leadership, and other integrated stakeholders to implement win strategies, compliant with Northrop Grumman’s business acquisition process.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. 

This role is located out of our Redondo Beach, CA campus.

 Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or Masters or PhD in a technical area.
  • Must have a current and active Top Secret and SCI security clearance
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in DoD and/or IC markets
  • An understanding of U.S. Government customer requirements, acquisition processes, and organizations.
  • Candidate should have proven experience in the establishment of new customer relationships with the objective of identifying customer needs and technology roadmaps to establish new opportunities for market/business expansion
  • Experience with ground system development for space-related applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in STEM, or MBA Degree
  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience in DoD and/or IC markets with focus on mission management / mission control
  • Experience in U.S. Government customer requirements development, program management, and acquisition
  • Significant experience developing and executing capture strategies to win greater than $100M new business with the DOD, IC and/or Civil agencies
  • Proven track record of business growth with the Space Intelligence Community and DOD programs across a broad range of customer
  • Experience leading and managing multi-disciplined teams

Salary Range: $160,200 USD - $240,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
