Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager of Competitiveness to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Research and Advanced Design organization.  The preferred location for this role will be onsite in Redondo Beach, Ca, and due to program and business needs will offer limited potential to work remotely or telecommute.

As Manager of Competitiveness, you will lead the development and management of strategy integration. This leader will be responsible for business case and internal investment analysis, and affordability initiatives while supporting the development of portfolio win themes.  The leader will work closely with technical leadership should have in-depth knowledge of cost estimating and pricing.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the business modeling and business case analyses, integrating competitive pricing inputs and assessments
  • Support establishment of win strategies through internal and external competitive studies
  • Drive analysis for investment planning and influence investment options to pursue
  • Lead ad-hoc sector and division projects critical to the portfolio’s growth. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of related experience in competitive strategy, portfolio management, program management and/or cost-estimating; OR Master’s degree and 7 years of related experience in competitive strategy, portfolio management, program management and/or cost-estimating.
  • Experience in aircraft cost estimating/analysis
  • Experience in proposal or capture efforts
  • Experience managing multiple projects
  • Customer relationship management with both internal and external customers solving complex problems
  • Current and active DoD security clearance with a refresh within the last 5 years and the ability to gain special program access or program access within a reasonable time to meet business needs and requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or STEM or business-related discipline
  • Understanding of corporate finance, pricing, and contracts
  • Experience with multiple platforms and domains within aerospace and defense industry
  • Current DoD Top Secret clearance

Salary Range: $134,600 USD - $201,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
