Northrop Grumman Mission Systems’ Navigation, Targeting, and Survivability Division (NTSD) has an immediate opening for a Director of International Business Development.   This position will be in one of NTSD’s primary facilities (Amherst, NY; Huntsville, AL; Linthicum, MD; Rolling Meadows, IL; Salt Lake City, UT; or Woodland Hills, CA, San Diego CA) and report to the NTSD Senior Director of Strategy and Mission Solutions.

The selected candidate may work a predetermined, hybrid schedule (NG location/virtual) at any approved NG facility within CONUS.

This position is a leadership role within the NTS Division’s Strategy and Mission Solution (SMS) team driving the Division’s long-term growth in the International Market.  The selected candidate will be responsible for the development, assessment, and cultivation of new and existing opportunities for NTSD’s broad portfolio.  The individual will work closely with a team of direct report business development managers, a broader support team of subject matter experts from the NTSD organization, a worldwide network of commissioned sales representative and consultants, and Northrop Grumman sector and corporate business development resources to identify opportunities, devise win strategies, and influence FMS program offices and international customers. 

Primary Roles and Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead business development activities to create / shape and prioritize new business opportunities to achieve the growth goals of the division
  • Create, maintain, and implement an international customer engagement strategy and senior customer visit plan for international military, government, and industry leadership
  • Collaborate with adjacent Northrop Grumman offices on regional growth strategies and develop inputs for the broader sector and corporate international strategy
  • Manage the consultant and service representative agreements for the division
  • Track and advise on the licensing of products for the division
  • Manage the division’s international pipeline and market data
  • Prioritize and develop (with team support) marketing content for the division
  • Act as Primary contact for Key division customer DOD FMS program offices
  • Interface with the sector and corporate international team and assure alignment of priorities

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10 years of experience related to Department of Defense (DoD) programs
  • 5 years of experience with international business development and/or program management
  • Understanding of DCS and FMS acquisition processes
  • Experience with exportability (i.e. Tri-Services Approval Process)
  • Knowledge of export regulations / processes (e.g. ITAR, Department of State Licensing)
  • Strong interpersonal skills that ensure collaborative and trusting relationships with the team, peers, customers, and leadership
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to develop and deliver executive level presentations
  • Knowledgeable in Customer Relationships Management (CRM) tools (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Secret security clearance eligible

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business or related field
  • 15 years of experience related to Department of Defense (DoD) programs
  • 10 years of experience with international business development and/or program management
  • DOD FMS Experience
  • Direct experience working with international customers in the areas of South Korea, Australia, Japan, United Kingdom, and/or Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
  • Direct experience with RF, EO/IR, and/or navigation technologies and capabilities
  • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance

This position reports to Rolling Meadows, IL, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 7 locations listed above.


Salary Range: $160,400 USD - $278,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
