Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking an experienced Strategic Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This opportunity will allow for hybrid work arrangements and will require some time on site in one of the following locations: Buffalo, NY, Baltimore, MD, or Fairfax, VA.

Reporting to the Director, Strategic Planning & Growth Analytics, the Strategic Planning manager will be responsible for supporting strategy development in line with NG Mission Systems sector’s strategic objectives.  Key responsibilities include coordination of strategy plans and market assessments, development of mission systems strategy presentations on areas of potential growth, creation of strategic white papers, and support the creation of goals and solutions for leadership.  Coordination of our strategic plan with the investment team to ensure funding is in place to support mission systems’ goals.  Aid team in the creation of product, portfolio, and market analysis to support strategic positioning for the Sector’s portfolio. 

The individual will partner with stakeholders across the sector and company to understand key drivers to business success and enhance the probability of meeting mission systems’ longer-term goals.  Teamwork and collaboration across the Strategic Growth team is required.  Tasks include the preparation and presentation of recommendations to divisions and sector leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provide recommendations to leadership on strategies across the sector portfolio based on customer and industry analysis, and environmental impacts.
  • Develop data-driven analyses to support strategy development for the mission systems portfolio.
  • Coordination and statement of work development with consultants on market assessments.
  • Create strategy plans with collaboration across functions and teams for new markets (domestic and international).
  • Create long-range strategic goals and solutions through white paper and presentation development.

 Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 10 years work experience or Master’s degree with 8 years work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ work experience related to DoD programs and knowledge of DoD budget principles and process.
  • Minimum 5 years’ work experience in a strategic planning function
  • Demonstrated understanding of U.S. and International government acquisition processes
  • Strong communication (oral and written), problem-solving, excellent attention to detail and great organizational skills.
  • Excellent skills with MS Office suite, particularly Word, Power Point, Teams, and Excel.
  • Excellent collaboration skills across multiple functions and teams
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or STEM, or business-related discipline.
  • 15+ years’ work experience, with 10 years’ experience in strategy
  • Recent DoD or consulting experience
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce and Tableau tools.
  • Knowledge of multiple platforms and domains within aerospace and defense industry.
  • Knowledge of Northrop Grumman products and solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Confluence.
  • Current DOD Secret or TS clearance

This position reports to Buffalo, NY, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Fairfax, VA, VA, USA.


Salary Range: $122,300 USD - $183,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
