Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) Strategic Deterrent Systems Division is seeking a Senior Manager, Strategic Planning. This individual will report to the Director of Strategy and Business Development for the Division and will lead the strategic planning and analysis processes across the portfolio to inform an aggregate Division strategy. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for integrating Division strategy with the Sector strategic development process. This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of the fastest growing areas in national security, supporting the development and execution of the sector’s business strategy. This role will be located in any of the following locations:

  • Roy, UT (preferred location)
  • Huntsville, AL
  • Dulles, VA
  • Colorado Springs, CO

 This position will require up to 20% travel depending on location.

 

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Strategy Development

  • Guides, coordinates, and oversees the development of Division Long Range Strategic Planning and supportive Annual Operating plans to share a cohesive strategic vision, with actionable execution items, across short and long-term timeframes
  • Monitors and produces annual reports on general trends in the commercial and national security strategic deterrence markets, competitive landscapes, as well as new military warfighting concepts
  • Guides generation and maintenance of SalesForce data continuity and accuracy for the Division; both within the business unit and cross-functional partners
  • Executes and coordinates the Division’s Business Acquisition Process-aligned Gate Review Processes
  • Coordinates and conducts Division’s annual investment (Non-Contractual Technical Activity) allocation and monthly process review
  • Identifies and coordinates corporate development opportunities, as appropriate (M&A, Divestitures, VC/PE, Minority Investments, Strategic Partnerships)
  • Leads development of annual Division-wide Portfolio Management reviews and alignment with Corporate, Sector and Division Technology Roadmaps
  • Develops monthly executive level Division Business Review presentations
  • Synthesizes complex information into generally consumable documents to inform decision making 

Customer Engagement

  • Define best practices to share insights with specific audiences
  • Customize content to align to those best practices
  • Support customer/policy maker engagements
  • Collaborates with Sector and Division Strategy and Business Development teams to develop and prioritize engagement plans 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university and 9+ years' experience with program management, customer management, capture, and/or business development – OR – Master’s degree and 7+ years’ experience as outlined above
  • Knowledge and experience with defense industry
  • Knowledge of customer acquisition processes.
  • Current/active Top Secret security clearance
  • US Citizenship is a prerequisite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
  • Extensive SalesForce experience
  • Understanding of Modeling, Simulation and Analysis (MS&A) techniques and approaches
  • Experience planning, leading and executing executive level meetings
  • Strong attention to detail, follow through and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities with limited supervision
  • Experience within the strategic deterrent mission(s) arena
  • Current warfighter and acquisition customer relationships
  • Current state/national-level USG strategic deterrence equity relationships

This position reports to Roy, UT, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 3 locations listed above.


Salary Range: $138,400 USD - $207,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
