Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Sr Principal Business Development Operations Analyst to join the sector Strategy & Business Development Operations team, which is part of the overall Strategy & Business Development organization. This role will be located in McLean, VA or Linthicum, MD.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Serve as the sector’s Salesforce Administrator:
    • Manage the division Salesforce administrator community.
    • Serve as the primary liaison between the sector and the Salesforce developers on day-to-day activities pertaining to the system.
    • Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for the user community in the navigation and functionality of the Salesforce, and provide general support to help users troubleshoot issues.
    • Draft communications regarding tool updates.
    • Track, monitor and respond to Marketing Coordination Forms; escalating if issues are not resolved.
    • Oversee license management.
  • Create, analyze, and submit monthly Sector Priority Pursuit reports to sector leadership, along with analysis on variances.
  • Develop and update charts for monthly Sector Priority Pursuit reviews.
  • Set up queries and run reports on recent and upcoming awards, as well as customer engagements.
  • Create dashboards in Tableau to display data from Salesforce and other tools that will inform decision-making.

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position emphasized skills and experience. Must have 14 or more years of relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a Business administration, Finance, Information system or related discipline and with 10 years of related professional experience in an operational role – OR – a Master’s degree with 8 years of related operational professional experience.
  • Dynamic self-starter with strong attention to detail, the ability to function independently and handle multiple priorities.
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively on a team and across teams, with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
    • Experience with working with Tableau CRM and or excel Power Pivot and Power BI.
    •  6 or more years of business operations or related field.
  • 4 years of Analytical experience
  • Must be able to work onsite in Mclean, Virginia or Linthicum, Maryland

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior Salesforce administrator experience preferred
  • Full knowledge of Aerospace/Defense Industry practices.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience in Northrop Grumman Defense Systems business areas, including structure and programs, as well as familiarity with the Business Acquisition Process.

This position reports to McLean, VA, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Linthicum, MD, MD, USA.


Salary Range: $112,300 USD - $176,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
