Northrop Grumman Defense Systems, Global Sustainment & Modernization Division is seeking Senior Principal Contracts Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.  This position requires extensive leadership responsibilities in administering, extending, and negotiating complex orders and contracts. The candidate will be responsible in supporting proposal preparation, contract negotiation under very minimal supervision, and contract administration including but not limited to strong internal and external customer communication activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, including FAR/DFARS requirements, and customer specification.  Prepares bids, processes Contract Data Requirements List (CDRLs) and other reports; advises management of contractual rights and obligations; compiles and analyzes data; and maintains historical information. Identifies and mitigates risks through a change management process.  International contracting is a plus but not required.  This position will be located in Huntsville AL.

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position emphasizes skills and experience. Will consider one of following: High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 14 years of Contract Administration, Business Management or related field, Bachelor's Degree and 10 or more years of experience in Contract Administration, Business Management or related field, or 8 years with a Master's Degree or Juris Doctor Contract Administration, Business Management or related field

  • Proven successful experience in administering complex contracts.  Including experience with all contract types including firm fixed price and cost reimbursable, and time and material contracts

  • Strong working knowledge of the FAR, DFARS and other U.S. Federal Government contract regulations

  • Must have demonstrated proficiency and strength with verbal, written, PC, presentation and communication skills

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience managing contract requirements involving Contractor Logistic Support (CLS) within the Contiguous United States (CONUS) and Outside the Contiguous United States (OCONUS)

  • Active engagement and working relationships required during the life of the program specifically with Program Management and the Supply Chain Organization

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding with Army Regulations

  • Maintaining the Contract baseline and Capturing Change through Change Management tools

  • Active participant Program Management Reviews (PMRs)

  • The ideal candidate must have strong analytical skills for problem solving, risk assessment and strategy. The candidate shall have the ability to apply comprehensive judgment to proposal strategy, contract negotiations and customer relationships

  • Must possess leadership values with the ability to provide and articulate through verbal and written communication on a wide range of contractual and business related matters


Salary Range: $97,300 USD - $145,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
