Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Level 2/Level 3 Principal Contract Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals! This position will be located on-site in Melbourne, Florida with PARTIAL remote work.

This position requires a background in contract administration, risk assessment/communication, strong negotiation skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will be a team player but also a strong independent contributor, will be proactive, will present leadership skills, will possess good analytical skills, will demonstrate problem solving skills and will be detail-oriented. In addition, the Contract Administrator will be required to deal effectively with competing priorities and deadlines, negotiating contracts, and handle multiple tasks.

Job Description:

  • Administers, extends, negotiates and terminates standard and nonstandard contracts.
  • Conducts proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Examines estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepares bids
  • Processes specifications, progress, and other reports
  • Advises management of contractual rights and obligations
  • Compiles and analyzes data
  • Maintains historical information.
Basic Qualifications for a Level 2 Contract Administrator:
  • Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of experience in Business Management or a Master's degree with 1 year of relevant experience
  • Microsoft Office experience including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Demonstrated experience with highly effective verbal and written communication and presentation communication.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 3 Contract Administrator:

  • Bachelor's degree with 6 years of related experience OR a Master's degree with 4 years of related experience OR 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
  • Demonstrated experience with highly effective verbal and written communication and presentation communication.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fundamental knowledge of the FAR and DFARs, general knowledge of pre and post-award federal government contracting industry practices, techniques, and standards
  • General application of contract administration concepts and principles
  • Experience with various contract types including cost plus, fixed price and time and materials required
  • Experience with various types of agreements, including Non-Disclosure Agreements and Teaming Agreements required
  • Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform moderately complex contracts administration tasks, to include proposal preparation, the development of change orders and processing of inter-company work orders
  • Ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Works under only very general supervision
  • An advanced degree in a relevant field (JD, MBA, etc.)
  • Proficiency and experience supporting sole source and competitive acquisitions
  • Proficiency in SAP business applications

Salary Range: $60,600 USD - $90,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $74,600 USD - $111,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
