Are you ready to put your experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, our Combat Systems and Mission Readiness Division wants you to join our team as a Principal Contract Administrator or Senior Principal Contract Administrator in Orlando, FL supporting the complex, fast-paced, and competitive Ground Satellite Communications Systems Operating Unit.  This team supports software development and maintenance services for government and direct commercial customers under firm fixed price, cost plus fixed fee, and cost reimbursable contracts.

This position will be located on site in Orlando, FL OR full-time telework for the right candidate.

In this position, you will administer, extend, negotiate, and terminate standard and non-standard contracts and agreements.  Your specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating, administrating, proposing, and negotiating, standard and non-standard contracts and agreements supporting various domestic and international customers / requirements, including DoD and other entities as required

  • Proposal preparation – examining proposal requirements and estimates, supporting the preparation of bids, analysis of terms and conditions to evaluate risk, accuracy, and completeness to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications

  • Contract administration – process contractual documentation and reports, key advisor to management of contractual rights and obligations, compile and analyze data, coordinate SDRL/CDRL deliverables, and perform maintenance of historical information.

  • Support the proper shipment, billing, and payment collection for contractual material, software, and data deliverables

  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports and maintenance of contractual databases

  • Daily interaction with internal and external customers

  • Duties may also include the preparation of proprietary information agreements, teaming agreements, export licenses/agreements and various types of memoranda as well as interface with internal functional and program organizations, effectively deal with external customers and meet the goals/objectives of the Ground Satellite Communications Systems Operating Unit

Principal Contract Administrator Basic Qualifications:

  • This position emphasizes skills and experience. Must have high school diploma or equivalent (GED) with at least 10 years of Contract Administration experience. Will consider 6 years of Contract Administration experience with Bachelor's degree or related discipline or a Master's degree with 4 years relevant experience

  • Ability to effectively work with the management of other organizations (program management, subcontracts, business management, and supply chain management) as well as customer representatives

  • General knowledge in understanding and interpreting the FAR/DFARs and other U.S. Federal Government contract regulations along with experience in commercial contracting

  • Experience in preparing and presenting briefings to senior level internal & external customers

  • Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret level government security clearance

Senior Principal Contract Administrator Basic Qualifications:

  • This position emphasizes skills and experience. Must have high school diploma or equivalent (GED) with at least 14 years of Contract Administration relevant experience. Will consider 10 years of Contract Administration experience with Bachelor's degree or related discipline or a Master's degree with 8 years relevant experience

  • Ability to effectively work with the management of other organizations (program management, subcontracts, business management, and supply chain management) as well as customer representatives

  • Senior level knowledge in understanding and interpreting the FAR/DFARs and other U.S. Federal Government contract regulations along with experience in commercial contracting

  • Experience in preparing and presenting briefings to senior level internal & external customers

  • Ability to travel to Orlando, FL, on occasion, if hired to work remotely

  • Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret level government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • M.B.A. or J.D. or relevant graduate degree

  • Experience with administering Agile Service Contracts

  • Experience in competitive defense contracting

  • Experience in managing contract requirements for contracts within the Contiguous United States (CONUS) and Outside the Contiguous United States (OCONUS)

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to be flexible and change directions when needed

  • Ability to work independently and make independent decisions, ensuring high levels of collaboration with stakeholder and subject matter experts

This position reports to Orlando, FL, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Fairfax, VA, VA, USA.


Salary Range: $74,600 USD - $160,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
