Description:

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking either a Contracts Administrator (A02) or a Principal Contract Administrator (A03) to join our Contracts teams in supporting the SABR Operating Unit based in Linthicum, MD.  This position reports directly to the Manager of Contracts and will serve as the primary contact with our customers for all SABR sustainment contracts.  Successful candidates are expected to work both in-office and remotely in accordance with emerging business needs. Occasional travel to customer sites is required and estimated at 10%.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Administer, extend, negotiate, and terminate standard and nonstandard contracts.

  • Review and analyze customer Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to understand Statements of Work (SOW)/contract requirements and advise the program team on contractual terms and conditions an risk identification.

  • Ensure company proposals are fully responsive to prospective customer requirements, prepare proposal submittal documents, and coordinate appropriate levels of internal review and approval.

  • Coordinate and develop responses to fact-finding, evaluation notices, and requests for information (RFIs) to bolster priorities, strengthen support for the proposal, and to identify key items or concerns.

  • Lead negotiations between customer and program team, including the development and execution of a negotiation strategy which will ensure the most beneficial agreement between Northrop Grumman and our customers in the quickest timeframe possible.

  • Apply sound judgment to proposal strategy, contract formation, and customer relationships.

  • Build knowledge of pricing principles and FAR/DFARS and associated Federal Contracting regulations.

  • Advise program team of contractual rights and obligations

  • Maintain and update contract documents and official program records, including contractual documents and correspondence.

  • Manage and administer Contractual Data Requirements List (CDRLs) and other reports, compile and analyze data, and maintain historical information through the closeout process.

Basic Qualifications for Both Levels:

  • U.S. Citizen

  • Active secret security clearance

  • Attentive to detail and able to handle complex contracts

  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Capable of adapting to unique and new situations and strong ability to learn quickly

  • Strong time management and prioritization skills to handle time-sensitive projects and meet deadlines and commitments

  • Ability to gather, organize and relay information and collaborate in a team environment

  • Advanced skills using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Additional Basic Qualifications for Contract Administrator Level 2:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of three (3) years previous experience in contracts, subcontracts, finance, or other business management related function; or a Master's degree or JD with a minimum of one (1) year previous experience in contracts, subcontracts, finance, or other business management related function.

Additional Basic Qualifications for Principal Contract Administrator Level 3:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum six (6) years previous experience in contracts, subcontracts, finance, or other business management related function; or a Master's degree or JD with a minimum of four (4) years previous experience in contracts, subcontracts, finance, or other business management related function.

  • Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform fairly complex professional tasks.

  • Ability to provide advice on a wide range of contractual and business-related matters including proposal strategy, estimating & pricing, audits, contract formation and customer relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Recent experience as a Contracts Professional in the defense industry

  • Strong working knowledge of the FAR, DFAR and other U.S. Federal Government contracting regulations

  • Experience with various contract types including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Cost Reimbursable, and Time and Material contracts

  • Familiarity with Northrop Grumman businesses, policies, and practices


Salary Range: $67,000 USD - $100,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $82,400 USD - $123,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
