Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems (NGMS) Sector, Emerging Capabilities Development (ECD) area is seeking a Senior Principal Contracts Administrator to join our Multifunction Systems (MFS) Contracts team. This open position is located in Linthicum, MD and primarily supports restricted efforts across the MFS Business Unit.  Remote work will be permitted for unclassified portfolio assignments.  The MFS BU focuses on research and development programs/transactions with a variety of customers, including USG agencies and non-USG/commercial entities.  If you’re interested in this type of work, come join us!

Job Duties:

  • Negotiate, administer, extend, and close standard and nonstandard contracts.

  • Provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.

  • Establish successful working relationships with customers via email, telephone, and in-person, when appropriate.

  • Collaborate effectively with the program team (finance, supply chain, quality & mission assurance, legal, pricing, and compliance) to recommend and complete actions to ensure satisfactory program performance.

  • Work with program business management team to closely monitor contract funding and payments.

  • Lead solicitation and RFP review/analysis, proposal preparation, and signoff.

  • Examine estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance. requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Advise management of contractual rights and obligations.

  • Compile and analyze data.

  • Maintain historical information including official correspondence.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Sr. Principal Contracts Administrator: Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of Business, Law or related work experience or Master’s degree with 8+ years of Business, Law or related work experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, and Teams

  • Ability to maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

  • Familiarity with contract terms and conditions and in proposal development, negotiation, and contract administration.

  • Understanding of commercial/US Government contractual instruments including contract type, terms and conditions, and contract financing vehicles.

  • Ability to work independently in a restricted environment.

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities; ability to start, oversee, and follow-through with major assignments and responsibilities.

  • Team player, proactive, and strong problem solving and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of DoD Contracts Experience.

  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.

  • Experience with restricted contracts, FAR/DFARS procurements, OTAs, multiple contract types, IRAD dependencies, and data rights.


Salary Range: $102,200 USD - $153,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
