Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems (NGMS) Sector, Networked Information Solutions (NIS) Division is seeking a Contract Administrator / Principal Contract Administrator to join our team in Linthicum, MD. This position will support the rapidly growing businesses within the Secure Processing Operating Unit. The job assignment is for production and development programs supporting multiple customers. The successful candidate will have experience supporting production and development programs, for both prime contracts and subcontract purchase orders. You will learn and grow! Come join us!

  • Negotiate, administer, extend, and close standard and nonstandard contracts
  • Provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications
  • Establish successful working relationships with customers via email, telephone, and in-person, when appropriate
  • Collaborate effectively with the program team (finance, supply chain, quality & mission assurance, legal, pricing, and compliance) to recommend and complete actions to ensure satisfactory program performance
  • Work with program business management team to closely monitor contract funding and payments
  • Lead solicitation and RFP review/analysis, proposal preparation, and signoff
  • Examine estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Advise management of contractual rights and obligations
  • Compile and analyze data
  • Maintain historical information including official correspondence

Basic Qualifications:

  • (Band 2) Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of Business, Law or related work experience or Master’s degree with 4+ years of Business, Law or related work experience. We will consider 7 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

  • (Band 3) Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of Business, Law or related work experience or Master’s degree with 4+ years of Business, Law or related work experience. We will consider 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel and PowerPoint) and Adobe

  • Familiarity with contract terms and conditions (FAR and DFARS) in proposal development, negotiation, and contract administration.

  • Understanding of commercial/US Government contractual instruments including contract type, terms and conditions, and contract financing vehicles. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities; ability to start, oversee, and follow-through with major assignments and responsibilities.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA

  • 5+ years of DoD Contracts Experience

  • Active Security Clearance


Salary Range: $67,000 USD - $100,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $82,400 USD - $123,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
