The Financial Services Material Accounting team is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as an Accountant. This role can be filled at a level 02 or level 03 (more information below).  This individual will serve as an integral team member in support of the Company's inventory and material accounting and will interact and collaborate with various sectors, divisions, and technical staff to solve complex inventory/material issues and questions.

This position can be supported from El Segundo, CA OR San Diego, CA OR Palmdale, CA OR Melbourne, FL. Working remotely will only be allowed on a part-time basis. Candidate must have the ability to obtain Government Secret Level Clearance to support Classified programs (if not currently active).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Review and collect data to prepare reports in accordance with the company's cost accounting system (SAP GPD) in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), corporate policies and procedures, disclosure statements and government regulations, including MMAS and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Prepare and present various reports/analyses, which could include material cost and inventory accuracy, price variance, allocations, and excess
  • Research, analyze, and interpret current and historical cost using Product Actual & Cost Estimating (PACE) Reports for activities such as: material and labor cost shifts, grouping/pegging/distribution, and goods receipt/invoice receipts (GR/IR)
  • Perform Material Master data maintenance, such as: Valuation Class, Material Group, and Material Type updates.
  • Prepare and/or Review documentation to post journal entries for various material accounting transactions.
  • Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations for material accounts using Blackline.
  • Assist auditors with understanding of SAP GPD, PACE, and material accounting processes, as well as fulfill audit requests.
  • Drives continued success by finding and communicating opportunities for efficiencies, process improvement, and/or automation of processes, in support of the Company's digital transformation initiatives.
  • Supports other initiatives as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • For level 02: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, inventory management, supply chain or related field and 3 years related experience Or 1 year with a relevant Master's Degree
  • For level 03: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field and 6 years related experience; or 4 years related experience with a Masters degree
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Level Security Clearance
  • Knowledge of material management and cost transactions
  • Experience with SharePoint, AO/WEBI, SAP, Excel and Word
  • Strong knowledge of material costing systems and processes
  • This role will allow for partial telework, but is not fully virtual - the chosen candidate must be able to work from El Segundo, CA OR San Diego, CA OR Palmdale, CA OR Melbourne, FL

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Secret Level clearance
  • Knowledge of compliance audit standards for MMAS
  • Strong ambition with the intent to work quickly and effectively, can get up to speed with business processes quickly and enjoys a dynamic environment
  • Experience in various business process and system capabilities in manufacturing and project management (i.e., cost accounting/MRP/Inventory/Production)

This position reports to El Segundo, CA, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 4 locations listed above.


Salary Range: $55,100 USD - $95,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $65,800 USD - $114,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
