Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking Principal Cost Accountant. This position can be located in Melbourne, FL, Palmdale, CA, or El Segundo, CA with the possibility of Hybrid work. This individual will support Business Management accounting operations and compliance of several key business processes. 

 

Essential Functions: 

 

This role will apply and analyze material accounting principles on processes, practices and procedures relative to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). The individual will play a central role in audit activities supporting continued approved status of NGAS Business Systems in both open and restricted environments; this will include Material Management Accounting System (MMAS), Purchasing System, Incurred Cost, and various internal audits. They will interact with federal regulatory agencies and internal personnel while investigating and resolving regulatory compliance issues. Ensures that costs are allocated according to established procedures; works closely with Cost Estimating on Material SEEF tasks. The role is also expected to leverage subject matter expertise into training and guidance to associated stakeholders.  The role is expected to lead improvement and corrective actions both in the open and restricted environments.    

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree with 6 years of Accounting experience OR a Master's Degree with 4 years of stated experience 

  • Experience performing and supporting audit activities 

  • Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance, awarded/reviewed within the last 5 years, and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access 

 
Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with cost accounting on aerospace programs 

  • Operational experience with SAP in Aerospace production environment 

  • Strong communication and written skills 

  • Experience working and collaborating with DCAA/DCMA 

  • Security clearance (DOD and SCI) 

This position reports to Melbourne, FL, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 2 locations listed above.


Salary Range: $67,800 USD - $117,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
